Do you feel books should give you an option to "list" goalies in hockey as they do in baseball with "listed" pitchers?? I say YES! To me, a goalie for a hockey team is just as equal as a starting pitcher for a baseball team when wagering. Not like this will ever happen, but wanted other opinions.....

Can't happen because some coaches wait until "last minute". Most goalies are not confirmed until 3-4 hours before.

Just way too tough to know for sure who is starting, simple as that:SIB

If that's the case then why are lines set the night before? If that was also the case then why would anyone bet on any hockey game overnight or in the morning for that matter if the goalies are not confirmed 3-4 hours before gametime like you say?

It's the same thing in baseball....you have two pitchers listed overnight with an opening line Vegas sets. You have an option to bet "listed" or "action". I see no difference with hockey. You should be able to list your goalie or goalies on the game you put your money on. There is a HUGE difference when a starting goalie is not in the net for your specific team. If for some reason, your goalie gets scratched for "rest" or whatever the case is your bet should be negated because initially you are banking the starting goalie is going to start. I feel you should have a choice of "listed" or "action"....especially if you bet a game overnight and the goalie isn't confirmed until 3-4 hours before gametime. Just my two cents......

Thanks Kick....was think'n about that today after getting screwed last night on the Sharks. I was very upset over that as I had no idea Nobokov sat for rest until I got home from work. I placed my bet overnight of coarse. I just see no reason what so ever not to be able to list your goalie as they are equally comparable to a starting pitcher in baseball. Most people, at least myself, don't have all the time in the world to be waiting and watching for what the coach decides to do with his goalie for that night. Makes me very skeptical to bet hockey after last night as this is $$$$ we're talking about, but I love the sport and love wagering on it. Oh well....live and learn.

Too bad this couldn't be brought up to a higher personal in the gaming world who could maybe do something.....

The book won't do it because it gives them an edge. Some people that bet don't even know or care who is the starting goalie.
