"glad I waited before taking pitt. The public is going to be all over the home dog today. Just like yesterday with New Mexico, everyone was on them and they got smashed. "

LDB,
I always ck ur posts and respect your opinions on games... but want to make sure I understand you.
If I may try to clarify...

*Same situation becuz... most 'cappers on Pitt... seems one-sided... and makes one consider W.Va....
*Different situation cuz... last nite was a road dog and no rivalry, today is home dog and big rivalry game.

You're saying take W.Va cuz everybody's on Pitt.... right?

*My initial thought was to take New Mx St, they'd be favored by 1 or pk... then saw the line and smelled a rat... so I just stayed off the game myself.

I've learned to hesitate when I see a lop-sided majority of all (what I consider to be) the top 'cappers at mj's on the same side of any game....
It's weird because it seems like that should be an ideal situation!
These guys put in alot more time, are better informed and do lots of research, etc
and they all seem to agree on who to take!

I've loaded up on gms like that in the past thinking all these good guys like it, so it'll win... but for some reason it goes the other way... more often than not it seems... and I don't know why it works like that...
but it seems to too often for my money.
Always a good idea to re-evaluate in those times.

So, unless I like the game myself... alot... I'll stay away or play very very small if at all.

Tonite's game... I think there are some valid reasons to take Pitt +3....
*It is the premier rivalry game for these 2 schools...
*I think the Big East has shown that about any of the top 7 tms can beat each other...
*probly national tv (havt ckd it out yet...)
But I haven't pulled the trigger one way or the other yet.

I normally just try to read and evaluate, not post cuz I get too "wordy" :142smilie sorry!
Always appreciate the efforts to post! Keep up the good work!

Whatever you play, hope you come out on top!:toast:

I understand your thinking here LDB and would agree with you most of the time, however I think the betting percentages landed pretty evenly on both sides of the line on this one. Of course, bettors were a little more heavy on the Pitt ML. I personally passed on this game, with no real lean to one side or the other, but I may look into a halftime play. As for your own play I wish you the best of luck tonight.

I think this is a great point about loading up on a play that a lot of very good cappers on this site agree on. I must admit to doing that in the past before going back and realizing that it was not a winning formula in the long run. Of course there is no winning formula, good cappers must adjust their systems in-season and from year to year, but I can definetly see how people can come on this site or lurk and see so many guys on the same play and automatically think it's a sure thing. Great example being NM ST yesterday, but here I go rambling on about the same stuff you talked about here LoB.
Long story short :iagree:
