game between the USA and Canada is a hell of a game even if I dont understand half of the calls such as icing. I always thought hockey was boring like soccer, but I am going to TIVO the rest of the olympic hockey games of the USA. Hell, I might even go check out a Lightning game!

I have said the 100 times.....go to a NHL game live you will love it.

With that being said this Olympic hockey is high high quality.....nothing compares to this.

Also.....USA team (and Buffalo Sabres) would be deeply fucked without Ryan Miller.....Ryan Miller beat Canada all by himself. No position is more important in all of sports then a hockey goalie. Ryan Miller could win the gold all by himself. Ryan Miller is amazing....just amazing.

No team has ever won a gold (or Stanley Cup) without a "hot goalie" and Ryan Miller is hotter then Jennifer Aniston in a sauna.

The only time I can stomach hockey is during the Olympics. I like it when smaller countries have NHL players on them and can actually compete. I pretty much root for the underdogs the whole way through. I still think the sport is boring as hell, but I like it during the olympics.

I just watched my first hockey game this year, I normally only watch some of the Stanley Cup...I will not miss another US game in the Olympics, I enjoyed it...

Ryan Miller didn't put up 4 goals on your revered (aging) Brodeur.

NHL hockey is a joke, and to compare it to olympic hockey is sad.

Why these guys can't play the game in the NHL like this is beyond me, and it's disgusting.

Playoff hockey is played at this level. Regular season not so much but it's no different than any other sport. No way to ramp up that intensity over 7 months before playoffs.

I guess you re-thought the smart assed comments about the US beating up Canada in their own back yard?

Canada out played the US team by leaps and bounds. If not for the fact that 30 years ago it was all college kids who beat the Russians, this would probably stand as a far greater win for Team USA.

Canada LIVED in the US zone all evening.

If you want to think Ryan Miller isn't the reason USA won tonight........good for you.

Playoff hockey is NOT played at this level, or even close to it.

Way more stoppage in play, and, I do believe, a fight of twenty per game.

I noticed much less power plays in this game.

Is that something to do with the rules for Olympics?

With some of the rules being different there does seem to be less penalties.

But you never know, it really depends on the two refs. Bottom line no matter what the rules are, refs can call a ton of penalties.

Some top NHL refs officiating though, so hopefully they "let em play".

Fun to watch. Should be a good game. Both teams are filled with some of the best players.
1980 was on real. We had 3, 19 year old kids on that team. WE were supposed to finish out of the metals. This is differant. WE are expected
to win a metal.

the nhl is unwilling to expand the ice surface (like the olympic) because of its partnership with NBA arenas. Many claim it would be too costly, but the NHL must do it to open up the game. Highly skilled players would have more room to maneuver, goons with not be pushing offenses toward the boards, and less devil trap like gameplay will follow.

Much like everyone else, don't really get into hockey all that much, but I attended game 3 of the Penguins and Caps last year and it just blew me away. For all, just go to a game, and you will feel the same, trust me. Watching on TV does it NO justice. Playoff hockey is great, and having the Penguins to watch and go to a few games is pretty cool too.

I would just like to publicly thank Canada for playing host to an absolute domination by the US in this winter Olympics.

Fun game to watch last night. Cananda looked so fast out there, one shot after another, rockets. Miller must have thought he was a special guest of a firing squad.

So is fighting frowned on in the games? It looked like a couple times things were breaking out but everyone seemed to back off.

Hopefully curlings back on today, there's nothing better then watching women scrub the floors!

a player assessed a fighting major in the Olympics is automatically ejected from the game...
