ESPN has suspended host Tony Kornheiser from his television talk show ?Pardon the Interruption? for comments he made on the radio last week about SportsCenter anchor Hannah Storm?s clothing.

Kornheiser announced the suspension on his Washington D.C. radio show Tuesday morning, calling his remarks about Storm intemperate and stupid.

?As the result of this, I have been sent to the sidelines of PTI for a while,? Kornheiser said.

ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz, while confirming the suspension, declined to say when Kornheiser would be back on the show. He said the network would likely have a statement later Tuesday.

Kornheiser described an outfit Storm was wearing at ESPN last week as ?horrifying,? saying her shirt was too tight and looked ?like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body.?

Kornheiser said he had called Storm to personally apologize for the remarks.

?If you put a live microphone in front of somebody, eventually that person will say something wrong,? Kornheiser said on his show Tuesday. ?This was one of the times I said something wrong.?

ESPN has been troubled by a series of workplace issues involving alleged misconduct by its television personalities, though they have involved behavior off the air.

I remember seeing the outfit which he commented on. I actually thought ESPN was doing some "retro" spoof or something when I saw her. I was in a bar and couldn't hear the sound. I said to the person beside me, "What's that all about?":mj07:

Where it is real F ing COLD
I think this is a bunch of BS by ESPN.. Oooh he ripped on Hannah Storm's hideous outfit on his radio show.. Who the fuck cares? It's not like he caller her a nappy headed ho..Talk about sensitive.. They have a guy named Jay Mariotti on Around the Horn and his twitter had a headline that stated, FUCK LANE KIFFIN and I do not think he was suspended. It's not Kornheiser's fault that Hannah Storm dressed like sausage wrap. I can see why ESPN would not be all that happy about the comments but a little meeting or email to tell him to tone it down would of been in order. A suspension.. WTF??

I heard that Scott van Pelt is suspended from his radio show by espn for some even milder comments about Bud Selig. Basically he just called Selig a pimp in commenting on his massive salaray. Apparently selig is pretty tight with the network (see the 8 yr 2 point something billion dollar Sunday night baseball contract) and the espn execs suspended SVP from his radio show. I for one was suprised by their reaction to such harmless comments. If you watch svp on sportscenter you know that's just his kind of humor. I know you can look it up you can find the clip from his radio show online somewhere. I think deadspin may have it but i don't know how to embed stuff here.

As a terrapin alum myself, I'm deeply offended by espns treatment of a fellow terp as well as the incredibly poor taste of Hannah Storms wardrobe in her use of the color red. :tongue

ESPN is a complete joke anyways. Their problem is they are too big so essentially they are a monopoly in the sports market. Then you add to the fact they are owned by Disney and it becomes a "we have to be PC" about everything situation.

I missed the days of Kornheiser being on National radio, he was hilarious pre-PTI days. The guy is paid to speak his mind or write about it.

Fire the Sean Salisbury's of the world fine I'm cool with that but dude is on your main show leading into Sportscenter.

Ok I'm rambling. Who's going to be co-host Jay Mariotti? Don't even get me started
