I can see how people say skiing is addicting. we're in Snowshoe WV right now. We got 24" of powder in a 24 hr window over the weekend. They say it's the best conditions since they've been open in their 36 years. They got over 100 in of snow in Feb alone.
This is my first time skiing so I guess I'll be spoiled with slopes in this condition on the east coast. But damn is it fun. Started on greens then to blues and an easy black diamond on my first day I was pumped.

Any other skiers at MJs?? We are planning on going out west next year-

I wanted to snowboard but my wife talked me into skiing. From what I've heard it's harder to learn but way more fun once it's mastered.

lots of people break wrists on snowboards because they cant keep from trying to catch themselves when falling backwards. Others cant overcome the faceplants you take when the nose of your board catches. My first time was at snowshoe and my buddies took me to one of the double black diamonds and said if you want to get to the bottom you better figure it out. Took me over an hour to get to the bottom but by my 3-4th run I started geting the hang of it. When it finally clicks its a blast. Have fun!

Snowshoe is great, skied there ov 50 times but was only a short drive from my house in wv, it use to be the only resort that you started sking from top of the mt down to the lift.

A great resort.

Lot different sking out here in the west then back home in the east. It's a whole different type of snow. Tons of deep powder.

Love skiing. Since I began kiteboarding 4 years ago, I'll probably snow board from here on out. I've been to snow shoe a couple of times and had a great time.

Sounds like you caught it at the perfect time.

Enjoy the snow!

Bode Haskell here:

Noley, ski'd Snowmass 2x and Highlands 1x on my long weekend trip. At my ever so slightly post middle age, I'm a blue run dude. Try to avoid bumps and diamonds which I didn't mind (but was not to good at in my twenties and thirties). Of course, enjoyed the apres ski the most. and yes, the women, ah the women.
