:sadwave: with open borders, I am surprised it took this long:shrug: [/url]

I thought your last favorite President authorized a bazillion of our tax dollars to put up an electronic fence to keep "those people" out? How is that coming?

(Speaking of your tax dollars being too high and all...)

I believe the party of sanctuary cities cut it off--by the way any news on status of presidents family that are here illegally?

Now give us your best shot on Dems being tough on illegal immigration--you might want to skip the voting demographics.

--and you know that question you nor anyone else can answer on who are these 30 milliom Gumby wants to add to system on his healthcare expansion (oops I mean "reform")

We know its not the impoverished or disable--they are already covered by medicade--"the children are covered on families up to $80,000 a year income under schips--so not them.

Have ya figured it out yet-- :)

Thanks for chiming in, Wayne. To address your points:

First, please enlighten me with something specific other than your comment that the democrats somehow "cut off" this fence? Not sure what you mean. I thought I would check into it to see if I had missed that, and this is what I found - rather timely:

From Businessweek:

America's Virtual Fence: A Failure in Design and Innovation
Posted by: Helen Walters on January 11, 2010

Steve Kroft put together a great piece on America?s proposed virtual fence along the border of the U.S. and Mexico for the weekend?s Sixty Minutes show. What particularly struck me was Kroft?s incredulous question to Mark Borkowski, Executive Director of the Secure Border Initiative (SBI), who is overseeing the Department of Homeland Security?s implementation of the new system, the design of which was awarded to Boeing back in 2006. ?I?m kind of amazed they?re building what?s going to be this multi billion dollar system for the border patrol and no one asked the border patrol what they wanted, what they needed or what would be helpful,? Kroft posited. Borkowski responded by acknowledging the ?huge mistake? that had occurred in the development process, which no more accounted for the real needs of those on the ground than it did consider the harsh conditions in which the system had to work. As a result, Kroft reported, years and billions of dollars have been wasted (the program is still only in its early stages, when it should by rights have been completed by now). It?s a clear example of what happens when the innovation and design thinking process breaks down (or is ignored altogether). Here, gross assumptions were made, legwork was not done and the result is a billion dollar debacle. Boeing did not comment in the segment, but it was a real indictment of all the players involved, and a textbook example of the need to keep users at the center of a project from the outset rather than merrily barrel along clutching nothing more than a quiver full of received wisdom.

Maybe you've seen something else, that says that the democrats cut off this program? Certainly, there is plenty to suggest it is a flawed program, which most knew a long time ago, but got rammed through for the Boeing folks under the Bush administration. Maybe you have something else?

Your other points: I have not seen anything about Obama's family members. If they are here illegally, they should be deported.

I never said the dems were tough on illegal immigration, I don't think they are. Nor do I think the Republicans are. I think both should be more so. I was just making a point to Hedge about tax money being wasted on a dumb republican idea (which seems to be all they really attempted to do towards illegal immigration), which seems to be his current hot button.

I don't know who those 30 million are in the proposal. I know that's a lot of new customers for the insurance companies, but that's a separate issue, of course.

All of which had nothing to do with my post to Hedgehog.

Ah, I did find something on that, you were somewhat correct. The GAO showed how it wasn't remotely effective in reporting illegals as there was a time delay in reporting, some such thing. The project will not be used in future ideas in this area.

So, the analysis is partially correct on your part. And the analysis that it was a boondoggle that didn't work very well on the taxpayers dime - which was suggested early on and disregarded - is also correct. Which, I'm sure bothers those that feel they pay too much in taxes, AND want to stop illegals.

Chad, I am constantly amazed at the shit DTB & Hedge makes up, then you fact check it, nothing else is ever said. It is shameful, really, to go about your life like that - living in the propganda and lies bubble.

Well, to be fair in this case, his comment was arguably correct about cutting the project. I see nothing specific about any democratic tint to the decision, however. I should have looked a little more before challenging it in that manner.

Thanks Chad You saved me a search--I keep having to explain these things to KC and Spongie-

baxck to immigration--rebs weren't any better --especially McCain.

Doing the right thing is political suicide--and who will step up.

Per thread title--Dems got 66% of hispanic vote last year--if they continue to pander with their sanctuary cities thumbing their noses at federal law--they should get 70% minimum next election plus 95% plus of black vote--and all thewy have to do is continue down the socialistic road. For 5 years I been warning what was coming down road with that issue and also warned we'd be approaching a time when those that pay taxes will be minority--might hit that in 2010. The writing was and is on the wall and not much anyone can do about it--only thing that will slow it down is mid term elections where "the less fortunate"don't vote.

That is why it is just not worth the time. People have to want to learn. You can't make them.

we can agree on that brother...bush passed the buck...and then some.....

i`m wondering about graham/schuemer`s "identity card" idea....

i know the civil libertarians are gonna scream bloody murder, but if such a card can be produced as alleged(fraud-proof),i`d be interested in hearing more....would have to have severe sanctions on employers built into the legislation....no passes...real teeth..

the big brother argument doesn`t hold water...it`s nothing more than a driver`s license/ social security number that can`t be stolen, forged or duplicated....

fence will never get built...a "real" barrier should have been built 20 yers ago but the republicans like the cheap labor and the dems love all the new voters....

in a nutshell,we`re f-cked..

Then what are doing in every thread I'm in.

I think I have solution for forum. We can have dual forums--conservative and liberals wings.

You could all discuss the new social benefits coming your way-and we could discuss ways to avoid the taxes to fund them.

We could discuss savings--and you credit repair.
You know--to each their own.

--and by the way--per above on your base--appears even even liberal AP can see the obvious also--and on not worth ones time--you can get info from me yesterday or wait on AP this morning--:)

" People mainly want jobs and an economy that restores the value of their homes and 401(k) accounts. There are plenty of other issues though that matter to groups such as the Congressional Black Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, both of which met with Obama on Thursday. Obama must pay some heed to all the concerns of those who elected him: 95 percent of black voters supported him in 2008; 67 percent of Hispanic voters did the same.

You really think all liberals are broke, don't you? You need to get out of Kentucky every once in awhile.

Well said, ditto.

DTB, it would be alot nicer to debate if you could refrain from the meaningless derogatory slang. That would be helpful for me is all I'm saying. Then I'd be willing to give you your do. It is hard to trust what you are saying when you throw out things like the dollar that is so fabricated. But we all know your limited reading material. Carry on!
