I've been following some of the immigration ideas on The Hill. To me, it looks like Senators Schumer and Graham have done some good work, especially considering it involved reaching across the aisle. I hope the two houses can put forth good debate yielding progress. The white elephant in the room is starting to smell from years of avoiding important issues.

Any thoughts, in an election year, of whether republicans will engage on a difficult issue?

I'm trying to see if this thread can survive flaming out in namecalling.

KC, the problem stays there because the DEMOCRATS have called people RACIST because they want to address the ISSUE, until the RACE baiters are EXPOSED as the TRUE IDIOTS they are, nothing will change. With the unemployment rate hanging around 10%, maybe some of the ILLEGALS haven't crossed the border, if we're lucky, some might have gone back home.

I dont know what the answer is concerning illegal aliens, I do like the fact most are hard working people willing to do jobs others will not think of doing. we cant exactly send them back to country of origin

make them pay a fee to become citizens, lets say 10 grand. issue a ss # and make them pay taxes, win win for everyone right:shrug:
