behind a game this one should set an example
BYU AND KANSAS STATE
with one minute to go and the game a point shy of the OVER (157) both teams decide ALL OF A SUDDEN NOT TO ATTACK THE BASKET AND FINALLY LET THE GAME GO AWAY AND LET THE UNDER REMAIN:moon:

incorrect. the game was 15 points under if it werent for refs calling touch fouls + late byu desperation. and the total DID go over for many people. the number opened at 154.

the only hand vegas had was in your pocket taking your money...

:142smilie

wrong i had no cash on the game as i had another play ...didn't or best put couldn't pull the trigger on those but knew the lines just a minute before the game and enjoyed watching it EXCEPT THE END AS IT WAS QUITE OBVIOUS "SOMEONE" DIRECTED THE TEAMS TO STOP ATTACKING THE BASKET AND PLAY TO END THE GAME....i could understand from KS but BYU?????????? WTF??????? :nono: some games come to stop with 2 or even one second still when all is lost...this one WASN'T .....WAS OBVIOUSLY A DIRECTED PLAY TO END THE LINE IN 156 or are coaches and ref's not aware ;) of the lines?????:mj07:
IF IN DOUBT CHECK THE GAME...IT'S EVIDENT

i bet totals, and i win. why byu quit fouling when they did, who knows. different teams stop fouling at different times, there's no particular rhyme or reason to it. byu was not going to win by fouling. i thought they foul up until the last 30 seconds if they were down over 10, but they gave up a little earlier, down by more than 10. there's no direction to that play. the number was over for some, under for others. i had 156' for the game, had chalked it up for a loss. but won by half point. and lost 2h total, 83, by one point. when refs influence outcomes it's the stuff donaghy is talking about. the only question regarding reffing out of that game was why the refs were calling touch fouls on kansas state against byu. if i had to guess, it was to keep the 2h closer with that being the only game going on at the time. but most likely that was just a fluke. and it certainly didn't lead toward the under, quite the opposite. as i said, if the refs hadnt called touch fouls in the 2h, that game would have gone comfortably under the number and not ended up right in the middle of the line-move range, 154-158.

HERE'S THE THING ABOUT THAT INSTANCE....FOULS ARE USED TO STOP CLOCK IN AN EFFORT TO SQUEEZE TIME TO TRY AND CATCH OPPOSING TEAM'S SCORE (IF OPP TEAM FAILS TO HIT 'EM) AND SO CALLED "TOUCH" FOULS ARE MEANT TO STOP IT WITHOUT BECOMING VIOLENT...SO REF'S CALL 'EM AS THEY HIT ...in this case just please CHECK THE GAME IN LAST 65 SECONDS with an open mind.....PERIOD.....i won't post replies as i find it useless.

I cashed at 155 only because I bet it on the overnight. I guess, to support your theory, Vegas had to balance all of that Morman money coming in on the over.

anything that stops the clock promotes the OVER, not the under. byu was in the penalty early. and of course byu noticed that it was getting cheap calls, so that in itself encourages drives to the hoops, attempts to create contact, like on that bogus leaner the dude hit and got a FT too. unders RARELY lose because of shooting quality. they mostly lose because of pace or, occasionally, refs being overly intrusive, as they were 2h last night. generally reffing is pretty good compared to a decade ago - they dont call as many touch fouls as they did back then, especially not in tournaments.

you just gave me the FINAL REASON "OVER" THIS MATTER man...as it was plain to check, too many were on the OVER and to middle the game the call was to lay off the attack on both teams , otherwise it could have ended 90+ to 70+ and an easy over
