Essentially this is as close to a home game for Cornell as you could ever ask for.

53.8 miles from the Cornell Campus.

This is the biggest basketball game in the history of the university.

The school has NCAA Championships in Hockey, Lacrosse even football....BUT NEVER Basketball.

The word from some Cornell Alumni is graduates from all ages are making the trip to Syracuse and buying any and all available tickets.

Can Cornell beat the #1 seed Kentucky Wildcats ?

The answer is simply yes.......

These Ivy Leaguers can play. Cornell scored 78 points against Temple. Two days later, the Big Red put up 87 on Wisconsin.

Cornell outscored its two opponents by a combined 31 points, shooting 58.8 percent from the field and 44.7 from 3-point range, absolutely toying with two of the best defensive teams in the nation.

Like Temple, Wisconsin tried and tried but found no answer for Cornell?s offense.

Is Kentucky great. Yes. Do they have legitimate top 5 picks in Wall and Cousins. YES.

It is one game do or die and Cinderella is dressed in RED and WHITE this year. The BIG RED who all live under one roof will come prepared to meet the challenge.

It could be one of those years like when George Mason reached the final 4. I think one of the 3 cinderellas, St. Mary's, Cornell or No Iowa will get to the final 4. Kentucky is awfully talented, but will their inexperience catch up with them? Ohio State looks vulnerable. Not entirely sold on Baylor or Duke either. Maybe Cornell at 75:1 to win it all has some value? Seems unlikely, but in this Sweet 16 there doesn't seem to be one standout.

I think anything is possible, however I think Cornell will almost have to play a perfect game to even have a chance against Kentucky.. The big advantage for Cornell is Kentucky is a young team, but it hasnt slowed them down yet..

I just think its cool this conversation is even happening.

Who in their right mind thought we would be talking about the chance Cornell would play KY, much less the fact whether they can beat them? Can't wait to see it and hope they can shock the world :0corn

if they keep playing the way they have been can't Northern Iowa get to the Final 4? The price is +385 and I'm tempted... See them getting by Mich State w/o Lucas. Ohio State most likely beats Tennessee. Not convinced they'll then have an easy time vs. No Iowa.
