they won and covered because they r good and they have a great coach like michigan st and west virginia! baylor beat the crap out of saint marys and everyone taught they were the shit! WRONG! bye bye,, next round will be tough but c no problem with duke beating w virginia,, duke will play hard for 40 min. unlike kentucky that played hard for the last 3 minutes of that game! dukes players r decent and educated,, unlike the thugs they play against! never bet against a POLISH coach!:toast:
Wthout the benefit of tv as I was at the game and just got home, but the charge on Baylor with 4:20 to go appeared to be a horrific call. Instead of Baylor up 4, shooting a ft and Zoubeck out of the game, Scheyer comes down and hits a 3 and its a 1 point Duke lead.
Then Baylor scores, Duke hits a ft to tie it and then on the missed FT it appeared to be a clear loose ball foul on Duke - no call and another 3 and game over as Baylor went into implode mode.
The whole game swung on 2 terrible ref decisions within a minute. If someone objective tells me tv replays showed it differently then so be it.

refs officials umpires play a big part in every game and can definately change a game with their calls no doubt! i'm a duke fan and i'm happy but i hear ur gripe!:shrug:
while I agree there were some verrry questionable calls that all seemed to go in Duke's favor... there was more to it than that...
Duke hit the 3pt shot when they needed to down the stretch... and free throws... Baylor did not.
Score was 61-61... and it all went downhill from there.l
My wk hinged on 3 games... I needed K St to win on ml saturday for a 4tmr and teaser... they lost.
I had Tenn ml as last play remaining in 4 diff parlays, and while I did hedge to protect the investment, I still lost money on the total...
I had Baylor + 5 and the under, and pressed em at the half... another loss.
other than that, I've had a pretty good tourney.
I still have WVa to win it all 40 to win 600...

no griping about the 2 technicals baylor should have gotten by hanging on rim or at least by slapping backboard?
wow. still with the refs, guys? baylor couldn't make FTs or get offensive rebounds. i suppose the refs were tapping balls out to smith and scheyer on the perimeter right? duke doubled up baylor on the offensive boards. did you guys notice zoubek fouled out just like lomers? and singler didn't make any shots except FTs. duke was the better team and avoided technical fouls. if singler had made shots baylor would never have led.
is anyone going to give this duke team--that's been together for 3 years now--some credit? haven't you lost enough betting against them?
take Duke +160, W Va +260 and Butler +460 to win it all. michigan state's luck is about to run out and duke/w va is gonna be a great game!

Duke made all of the plays at the end of the game and Baylor fell apart. The momentum all shifted after that call. It was a call that almost always is called a block. While it did'nt decide the outcome of the game, in my opinion it did influence it.
