Pitch was big where I grew up in Mo.

Played

5 point --add a joker to Jacks version

7 point (add another joker and an off-jack)

10 point (same as seven expect you play with all cards down to the deace and the 3 counts 3 points)

We would typically play 10 point. Occassionaly would play one of the smaller point versions if it was odd number and you couldn't play in teams.

Good luck, dude.

I, too, have been contemplating giving up capping in all sports aside from football this year, and make this season my last season of capping football.

Lack of time is part of the reason. 4 years ago I had free time to spare, but with two children 4 and under, I no longer have time to spend on it.

The main reason, however, involves setting a good example for my children. I NEVER discuss gambling in front of the kids for obvious reasons, but I know they will catch on to what I'm doing before too long. It'll suck for me because I love sports capping, but I would not want to be the reason that they turned to gambling at a young age.

Fighting same issues as I have five 9 and under. Love to cap all sports but feel overloaded at times. Never discuss it either but soon enough I will have to?

I was about 5 years old, my dad and his friend bet football and college basketball through their bookie, I helped them pick games every week and every night during basketball season. I played bingo since I was about 10 years old to about 21 at least once a week with my dad and his friend, sometimes twice, gambling is fun in moderation and that is what I have always done. when it becomes not fun I will quit for good, it will not happen anytime soon.

Same here Cie. I have 2 boys, 6 & 4. Once in a while they are in the room playing when I "make my call". They sometimes ask me, "Dad, who are you talking to? Is that your friend?". That is why I am also not a fan of the R-rated avatars. There is one sports forum I don't ever go to anymore because those avatars are flat out x-rated. My kid told my wife one day that, "Daddy looks at ladies in their underwear on the computer." Of course wife thought it was porn and I had to explain to her that it was this place and a couple other forums. (Obviously would never, ever open the Mojo room or anything like it with my kids in the room).

I have quit many times myself. But damn it if I don't get sucked back in. I never thought it was addicting and always thought I could quit whenever I wanted, but I now know it is much, much harder than I ever expected to give it up. I'm a very small time player. $10-$20 a game. Its more of a hobby than anything because I sure don't make any money at it. Heck, you would be surprised how much a guy can lose in a year betting that small. I don't want my kids to ever get into it.

You all are on a gambling forum 24/7 taking time away from your family and your giving out advice on not mentioning gambling to your kids. To funny. Thou art so Rightous. Yea right.
