Why did Duke kill WVa and why did Kentucky lose to them? 3-pointers.

Duke shot lights out 13 for 25 while Kentucky went something like 3 for 26.

Duke lives by the 3 and dies by the 3, esp in the tourney and they seem to be peaking at the right time. Then again, you never know when those shots will stop falling.

What you do know is that when they stop falling, Scheyer will start falling and be at the line a ton.

Saw a graphic that said Duke AVERAGES 23 FT's per game. Incredible.

refs definitely won game for duke. why they actually shot let duke shoot their first free throw with 12 minutes left in the game. the refs gave them 9 free throws to 19 for west virginia. definite advantage duke. didn't catch any of the same thoughtful insight from you when college of charleston got 6 free throws to unc's 34. unc was robbed.

That said, look what happened against Baylor. Duke shot 2 FT's in 1st half. Then gets 27...that's right....27 FT's in 2nd half. What a halftime "adjustment", lol.

Amazing how many 3's Duke takes every game and yet still averages 23 FT's per game.

The biggest thing Duke has done in the tourney is to just shoot 3's and have Zoubek hack underneath on misses which leads to more open 3's.

Zoubek sucks ass but he's a hell of an asset when they don't call fouls. He's also good for at least one flop a game that will be wrongly called a charge.

Almost positive Baylor didn't foul that much down the stretch on purpose. There was the phantom technical that should have been a no-call or double technical....Scheyer throws an elbow and walks away with a goofy "who me" look and then shoots free throws. Priceless.

No, the fouls weren't on purpose, just more calls that went Duke's way in a close game.

I know UNC shot a lot of FT's last year but come on. They had 4 NBA guys on the team and ran like hell. Duke sits back and shoots 3's all day and still goes to the line almost as much.

Not too much stimulating by what I've seen this season, this tourney,etc.
Gotta disagree, DD, I wouldn't take 8 even if available.
Duke is certainly not the strongest team that entered this tourney but I'd say they are certainly the strongest one left.
The 6, I've got, seems reasonable.
Duke by double digits seems destined.
With or without Scheyer shooting the lights out.
Duke's accuracy has been much higher than Butler's, and I don't think that Mich.St's D was more tenacious then what Virg.Tech brought.
Well...maybe last game but not for the tourney.

GL whatever you partake.
Not my area of expertise (if such exists) but I figured that W.Virg-Duke game was, in essence, the championship.
No contest.
Hence by backing of the hated ones in the finale.

Yes, Duke has covered every game just like North Carolina did last year.
