I think this is a pretty wide open event.....
Uptowncharlybrown will likely go off as the (sentimental) favourite, and realistically, Pletcher's horse on the outside (Connemara) is likely the one to beat, but I keep coming back to this one:
#5 CALL SHOT (10/1) Look two back - only beaten a length by our Nordic Truce, who went on to win the Transylvania on the turf here Opening Day. Last start in the allowance this guy ran into Radiohead and Homeboykris, who would likely get a bit of attention in this field. Some other positives:
- third start off the shelf
- bullet work 4/05 over this track
- Jockey / Trainer combo has hit at a 39% clip since 2009
I think Call Shot is worth a shot.
The dog and I are going to the OTB to pick up a form, make a couple wagers and spend the day watching some races since it is really shitty outside here.....There was snow in the air this morning.
