If the AAA offense the M's run out there can hang 7 on you in one inning, you know you've got problems. Then again, if Wigginton doesn't boot that grounder he would have gotten out of the inning only giving up one.

Yeah Berge has not handled it well when he has run into trouble this year.

He lost his composure fast last night and his fastball has been flat. He has been using his slider and breaking ball too much.

Let him try to straighten it out in Norfolk. The orioles do not his spot in rotation until May 1st and hopefully they let Arrieta come up and get a chance then.

Well Bergesen getting bombed was the least the O's could do after the Jones trade. And yes, I will piss and moan about that trade until the day I die. :142smilie I didn't think the Lowe/Varitek for Heathcliff Slocumb debacle could ever be matched, but ol' Bavasi pulled it off with the Jones trade. Which brings me to the question... is Tillman still slated to be a top of the rotation guy? I haven't been following his progress lately.

Matusz has emerged as the clear #1 type guy, Tillman still looks to be the #2 guy.

I am suprised he did not make the roster out of spring but they really liked what David Hernandez did this spring.

They wanted Tillman to go to Norfolk and work on repeating his delivery so he will throw more strikes. So far he has struggled throwing strikes in his starts and Jake Arrieta has probably moved ahead of him on the next starter to be called up list.

As soon as Tillman starts throwing strikes again he will be up to stay with the Orioles.

The only long term problem I see is that Tillman is more of a flyball pitcher and at Camden Yards that could be trouble. It would not completely shock me if he gets dealt for a young start shortstop at some point.

The orioles are loaded with young starting pitching and Zach Britton is looking like he could easily be a top of rotation type starter.

If they stick with Tillman the rotation could look like this by next year

Matusz
Tillman
Britton
Erbe
Berge

Good info. It will be interesting to see how Tillman pans out. Jones was the guy that was the "sure thing" in the deal, but I think most M's fans assumed Tillman would end up being a very good ML starter for many years. And I've been very impressed with Matusz. I was amazed the other day when the O's were +160 with him on the mound at Oakland. That line was way off.

Also Kam Mickolio is up with the club again, if he can be more consistent with his control he could be the closer with the orioles soon.

Even Tony Butler seems healthy again and is starting at lower minor league level.

That was the trade that helped reload the Orioles system.

Even Sherrill netted us Josh Bell who will be the opening day third baseman next year.

Yeah, I was going to ask who you guys got back for Sherrill because I couldn't remember. Jesus, I honestly think that trade could be in the top 10 all-time worst trades.

Tell ya what, how about this year we give you Felix Hernandez and Frankie Gutierrez for Felix Pie and Julio Lugo. :mj07:
