flag football playoffs start tonight, and my being the qb (who essentially designs the plays in huddle) am looking for a handful of plays that would work against zone coverage.

if any of you out there got something i could get a gander at, or maybe a site to visit in hopes to have soemthing to run with tonight, would be greatly appreciated. tia. -t

Went I was the qb in our atlanta league - i bought a program called the headache offense - however i found it more effective to run a no huddle offiense and call plays at the line - so i could see how the defense was lined up and if i needed a change i would call audibles for each receiver.
something simple like - line up and call number 4 (everyone had arm band with like 10 plays)

then if i saw a mismatch i would point to my receiver and say 1 which was a 5 yd slant.

i know that was long but it worked for us

i'd be all for that, though would be wayy over heads for teammates specially the girls - as is a coed league.
i guess i'm looking for creative designs on how to flood a zone or any other play designs that... work.

where did you -buy a program?

You've got to keep an even # of receivers on both sides at snap. someone needs to decoy threaten deep on the non-flooded side.

On the flooded side keep routes on the sideline - outside man fly or deep hook (25 yd), slot on flooded side 15-yard out, slot on non-flooded side 5-yard down and in that goes through to the flooded side.

Keep running until they switch to man

Can honestly say that I dont even know how many people are on a flag football squad so dont really know if the basics are the same. A couple of general rules however in regular football are 1)Against cover 3 four verticals can not be covered. The question is does the qb have the arm to "fit it in". 2) combo routes are a must and are designed to trick the defense, just as zone blitzes are designed to trick the offense. Another general rule is that implicit in the zone defense is the fact they are willing to give up certain routes and areas of the field. The question is can the qb identify what they are giving up and complete the passes. Like I said not sure how this translates to flag football. GL
