I think I heard Phil Steele say on Rivals Radio it's coming out June 8th.

Can't wait to read it. Thanks for the info on these mags. I'll have to drop by B&N today.

Glad to see most polls have TCU starting in the top 10. I've only seen one poll so far that has TCU outside the top 10 and that one had them as #11.

No problem Joe...For the past couple of years I've picked up Phil's mag over Memorial Day weekend...I'm sure it will be ready by that time again.

From what I read in Lindys TCU is suppose to be explosive as ever on offense...didn't realize they had Dalton coming back. If they get by Oregon St...and Baylor (should beat Baylor) then they should roll.

Yes, Dalton will be a 5th Yr Senior and is set to pass Sammy Baugh's career win record. I wish the backups would have played more last year, but we'll see what happens this year. He's put the Fiesta Bowl behind him and has a lot of talented weapons on offense at his disposal this year. I'm a little worried about our LB corps. Tank Carder's shoulder is a question mark, but he's a tough one. Kris Gardner was also injured during the spring, but Kenny Cain is a good replacement.

A writer for Dave Campbell's Texas Football magazine chose Baylor over TCU as his second choice for upset of the year. Unless TCU has a major meltdown, I don't see it happening in Ft Worth.

Just wondering how Bama could not be ranked #1?

Part of it is he likes to be different. Gives him a better shot at continuing to be the 'most accurate', is that he isn't like what everyone else churns out. The other, and probably more important part, is he looks at quite a few different things for his rankings than the other magazines. Dives a lot deeper than just "they were #1 and return a lot". He often talks about how his top 25 differ from his 'power rankings'. He takes into account scheduling and everything else you can imagine and then some. And because of that teams may be higher in his top 25 then they are in his power rankings.

Is Phil Steels mag now on the newstands?

Yes Hawkeye, picked mine up from Barnes & Noble Saturday. Almost have the schedules pluged in the SS already. Never done this before, kinda enlightening, seeing the potential trap games already.
