THE TRAIL LED TO... CLINTON?

---remember O's famous grift--no more back room deals if I'm elected

1st back room/closed door (transparency) bribes and payoffs for healthcare vote--now this.

--only 2 options He's either King Grifter or isn't running the show-- eg Powers that be shove him out the door with telepromter loaded with what they want him to say.
Smartest move was canceling press Q&A's for almost a year. Next 6 months will be interesting
++++++++++++++++++++++++
appears Wall St Journal has same conclusion-but says it much more eloquently. The best case scenerio--

It's possible that all we really have here is a case of the Obama White House playing Washington politics as usual, which the White House refused to admit for three months because this is what Mr. Obama promised he would not do if he became President. However, this is clearly what he hired Mr. Emanuel to do for him, and given his ethical record Mr. Clinton was the perfect political cutout. So much for the most transparent Administration in history.<!-- Main headlines links END --->

Don't forget the federal judgeship Obama gave Matheson's (D-UT) in order to get him to change his vote on the health care bill.....

There certainly is a pattern here - but, in some ways, the Dems are right - this is politics as usual in Chicago.....

Yeah, because no one in Washington's ever been guilty of a quid pro quo system. Only happens in Chicago.

None of the Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats got anything from Big Medicine for voting against healthcare reform.

Thanks. I think I got it now...

Big difference between lobbyists influencing an election versus a Federal elected official (Obama) bribing for votes.... in fact, they do have laws against what Obama/Rhammie did.....

The beauty of all of this is not what the WH did - it is the coverup they are involved in - bringing in Clinton, calling Sestak's campaign manager Thursday to get the stories straight....

If you remember, Nixon didn't get impeached because of Watergate itself (they couldn't pin it on him) - they got him for the coverup under the charge of obstruction of justice.

The actions seen from the WH - the coverup that has ensured - has looked very similiar. I have a hunch that we'll hear a lot more about this in the next 30 days. I would be shocked if there is not an investigation.

And the NICE thing - this isn't like 1972 when the electronic media didn't exist - EVERY email, phone call, etc today is logged. I have a hunch there is a lot of dirt to uncover.

And don't criticize the BD Dems and Republicans for voting against a bad bill.... history will show that they are the smart ones, who understood how bad this bill is for our country.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

You would think that the Blago situation would have deterred them. It's just the way they play the game, us conservatives have been RIGHT all along.

So one form of quid pro quo is OK and the other is not? I disagree. They're equally offensive to democracy but the buying of votes on bills and in elections is pervasive in our political system, therefore it's a much bigger problem. And we haven't seen anything yet. It's going to get MUCH worse in coming elections now that our wonderful Supreme Court has signed the deed to our country over to corporations.

As far as the Sestak thing's concerned, I think a full investigation is warranted. But forgive me if I reserve my judgement until the facts come out. IF the Obama Administration IS guilty of offering Sestak a position to pull out of the PA Senate primary, they should be held accountable, no doubt about it.

Regarding the Healthcare Bill... well, yes... I do blame Republicans and Blue Dogs for watering down what could have been a much better bill. But, it's a starting point and it can be improved upon in time.

I agree with the Tea Party... It IS time to take our country back, but not from big government. It's time to take it back from the corporations.

The WH already admitted that Bill Clinton, under Rahm's direction, offered a political appointment if Sestak would drop out of the election. So, it is already fact. The WH is claiming that there is nothing wrong with that - although the law is fairly clear on this point.

They got their hand caught in the cookie jar on this one - and are trying hard to spin this - but Sestak screwed it up when he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

There will be an investigation - and they will find a bunch more, along with the coverup by the WH. This won't end well for the Dem's - but it will be great for our country.

Fair enough Mags. I agree it doesn't look good for the Obama Administration on this one but this stuff goes on ALL THE TIME in Washington. They just got caught. On the other hand, referring to the Obama Administration's stonewalling the media on this as a "cover-up" is a stretch. Withholding information from or lying to investigators would be a cover-up. The law's pretty clear on that too.
