Not a huge enviromental guy but this shit is pissing me the f off. From the beginning bp tried to play this shit down like its not a big deal. ppbart unfortunately this shit could hit the east coast as well. Hopefully they will get charged with criminal offenses given the fact they lied and had NO plan if the rig blew. fkn assholes :mj12:

now the gov`t needs to get out of the way of the local folks......stop blaming and start acting as far as clean up...

it`s easy to point a finger...show some leadership...start cleaning the mess up...instead of threatening...

I was there in Feb, 2004, had a job interview in Daphne, drove down to the beach at Gulf Shores down RT 59. There was a building with a BIG shark mouth that you went thru to get inside, One of the Hurricanes got that tore it up bad, these people are now or just finished rebuilding and then this hits. I tell you it was BEAUTIFUL to an old Ohio Buckeye, the white sand beach. Didn't get the job, but still remember the sites from back then. Spanish Moss in Mobile, etc

I fear for the small businesses that rely on tourism:(

It is sad :(

agreed! I have a friend who is out of work. He's been certified through some federal agency (background check, drug test, etc), and he's going to go down to Louisiana and start work. He said it's $25 an hour, living arrangements paid for, food paid for, and he can work 7 days a week if he wants. He's going for a 6 week stint. Should be a lot of similar opportunities like this for people to work. Hopefully there's enough work for the good people who have lost their livelihood due to this stupid mess. Maybe a good deal for RAYMOND? Get that 2.5K paid off pretty fast!

I also agree that it's a sickening, horrible mess. I wonder if some douche-cock like Pat Robertson is going to say something like he did when Katrina hit (about the Louisiana people)? Sure hope not.
