A guy i work with was saying he drinks 6 cokes a day. - I bet him $100 he could not drink less than 20cokes or other soda type drinks in a year. He could not even have fruit juice unless it was mixed with water.

The other day he was drinking canned Limonade and I said it counted towards his 20 in a year because it had 300 calories in it. He disagrred after he put down his fourth of the day.

So the question is is the canned/bottle limonade count as a coke/soda type drink.

Thanks for your input

:0008 Good day

Is Limonade just generic sprite?

A picture would help, but I agree with yyz's reason.

Is it carbonated? I always think of soda as being carbonated, but I'm certainly not an expert of what does or does not constitute soda. And you say that he wasn't supposed to be drinking juices either, so it sounds like he's fugged on this one...

I would normally say it shouldn't be included due to the fact it isn't made with carbonated water. However, you had further stipulations on the bet it seems that it wasn't simply coke/soda you were betting on given the fruit juice scenario you state.

Actually, I just went back and read your initial post and you said he couldn't drink juices UNLESS they were mixed with water. I'm assuming what he drank had water in it, since it's 'limonade.' So I guess my answer would be if it's carbonated you win, if it's not carbonated he wins. Again, in my uneducated opinion. :0008

i've never heard of limonade, though if is anything like above^ lemonade, then that would fall under the fruit juices consideration unless you have stipulation that was "mixed with water" as origins of lemonade are truly lemon flavored water with many permeantations of original with varying and increasing amounts of sugar---which seems to be the sticking point of your argument in bet (sugary drinks?)

the above is not carbonated, and is mixed with water--though almost all beverages have some water in them now, so then, perhaps a clarify on what you were thinking when saying mixed with water

--it is soo loaded with sugar, the caloric intake is not far off of that of a soda, though again, mixed with water, and not carbonated, yet...bottled by a soda company.

Agreed. I think Mr. Coke Drinker may have found himself a loophole. Now he'll be drinking 15 limonades a day to get his sugar fix. :mj07:

People that drink that many sodas are addicted to the sugar so Lemonade should count as soda unless he goes diet.

Also he will not last a month much less a year going off Coke if he downs that many a day.

sorry im bad at spelling but i thought it was a Prerequisite to be a member here

its certainly not a prerequisite, though sometimes members have different spellings, as sometimes is actually different spelling altogether. like..the 1th game of the NBA finals or something.

i thought perhaps there was a seltzer like lemonade out there, perhaps going by the name limonade, like a limeade kinda deal--or limoncello if you will. wasnt trying to be a goof. tehres_entirely_too_many_sodas_on_market thought was simply one i hadnt heard of is all. point in case, yesterday i had a grown up soda at a restaurant. they had varied flavor options and i thought was something new (as i had never heard of) yet, it was just a dry seltzer like soda alternative and the "grown up soda" gus
was jus the name of the company...hence my asking you -not sarcastically-if was something i didnt know of. gl with your end of that bet
