Granted it's the Pirates, but he's a man amongst boys out there. I doubt I'll be betting on the Nats when he pitches because the lines will always be inflated, but I sure as hell won't be betting against him.

I think even against the Yankees or Redsox he will be dominating. What can a hitter do seeing a 99mph fast ball then 79mph curve or 90mph changeup. NOT MUCH just lay the bat out there and hope for a hit.
His curveball on the Young strikeout was ridiculous. When you can see the ball break 2 or 3 feet down and to the left on TV, you know it's filthy. And considering the ump is giving him anything even remotely close, I'm guessing he will end up with around 15 Ks tonight.

To me, the most impressive feat he did last night was to not walk anyone. Sure that might not mean much to most, but this shows he has great command of his pitches and most importantly nerves, especially in his first game. I know it was the AAA club known at the Pirates, but I thought he would have some jitters. i watched most of the game last night and his stuff was wicked, and it helps to have a veteran catcher behind the plate in Pudge.

Just think, if the M's hadn't swept the A's in that meaningless series at the end of the season Strasburg would be an M right now. :142smilie
At any rate, my favorite thing about the kid is how humble he is. He's going to be the best pitcher on the planet within a few years, but the guy seems to have no ego. I find myself not rooting for a lot of players because they're just so damn cocky (*cough* Felix Hernandez, *cough*). It's nice to see young guys like Strasburg who actually seem to get it.
