Corked bat LMFAO...they all cheated people....did any 1 mention how Y. Berra had vaseline as well as pinetar on the sole of his shoe, so when he threw the ball bk to the pitcher the ball was illegal. Umps would come out and check the pitcher and never found nothing. Have many Phil Kniekro stories. UR thinking Hmmmm great trick...their are many great tricks to cheat. Could go on and on but I am so tired. I luv Pete and have met him and should be in the Hall. Great guy but he bet just like YOU and I and is banned. Remember their is one thing to cheat and another to throwing a game.....IMO Pete never threw away a gm. to capture $.
He may have bet on the games like the general public does, but he did it while he was a coach/manager of a MLB team. So it's not exactly the same thing as what you and I do.
Anyone who has ever played the game knows if you bet on it you get banned, and you also won't get into the HOF. That's why he chose to lie about it for so many years. Maybe I'm a hard ass, but I don't see why he is deserving of sympathy. He made his bed, now he gets to lie in it.

To say he never altered games from his gambling is insane. I have no problem with his lying ass being banned but he should be in the HOF.
Being a NYM fan, and actually being at the playoff game in 1973 when he beat the shit out of Bud Harrellson (who probably weighed 40 or more pounds less than than Rose)....I hate Pete Rose, I think he is full of fucking shit, but then again, I have a biased opinion.....and I'm drinking right now:toast:
Pete was telling the truth all those years and then finally in 2004 he saw he would never get anywhere telling the truth..........so he decided to take a new track......he thought well nobody believes me when I tell the truth so I have to start lying about it......now I guess more people believe him..........but it doesn't get him anywhere because nobody gives a shit anyway
