I kinda gave up posting here for the finals.
Sick of the BS.
Now everyone is on the C's tonight in a must win game yet as far as I am concerned GAME 3 was that game.
Funny in Game 3 I posted that write up that said game 3 play was Lakers play or nothing. Now that the Lakers have seized control again everyone is thinking that Stern wants it to go 6 or 7.
That is BS.
2009 Finals LA took care of biz and won it 4-1.
Maybe Pierce knew something when he said were not coming back to LA. Though I would be inclined to take the Celtics in a game 5 down 3-1 for some reason.

People aren't on the C's tonight because of Stern, they are on them because they're at home in what amounts to a must-win situation. Maybe they win, maybe they don't, but I wouldn't want to bet against them in this situation.

As for Stern trying to extend the series with his evil corruption, I have yet to see any tangible proof of that. As I posted in a thread earlier, Stern has been Commish for 26 years and in that time there have only been FOUR Finals that went the distance. That's roughly 15% of the Finals during his tenure. If he was pressuring the refs to extend series as long as possible, don't you think it would be more than just 15%? I do.

Furthermore, in the 38 years prior to him being Commissioner 12 of the Finals went the distance. So 3x as many Finals went the distance when he WASN'T the Commish, in just 12 more years. So in other words, if you want to assume that Stern has his hands in the affairs of the refs, logic would dictate that he is expediting the series, not prolonging them.

And FWIW, I'm not saying there hasn't been corruption in the NBA or that it isn't possible for games/outcomes to be rigged. Donaghy alone is proof that there can be corruption. I just don't see any facts that point to Stern trying to extend the Finals. If anything, the facts seem to point to the opposite.

So did you end up playing the Lakers in this one King? I saw you started a halftime thread but was wondering if you made a full game play. Hope it was on Boston if you did! :toast:

ps...I'm leaning to an LA outright win for game 5. Your thoughts?
