San Diego Padres Mat Latos -R +100

Latos (8-4, 2.93 ERA)
Great value here. Team that is winning vs a team that is going through the motions wondering who their next manager will be.

Since the start of May, Latos is 7-2 with a 1.92 ERA in 10 starts. He has allowed more than two runs in a game just once in that stretch. He's been compared to a young Jake Peavy and has the stuff to justify it.

Anibal Sanchez (7-4, 3.30) is good but the Padres beat him earlier in the year already. Also think the under is a good play.

Padres +100 ***
Under 7.5 **
Giants -120 (Lincecum at home, nice. Boston no Pedroia. Great Value play) **
Yanks +100 (Andy Petite is 3-0 with a 1.96 ERA in five road starts this season)**

Good Luck to all.

you mention the pads beat sanchez, what about the beating latos took @ fla ? wasn't like he was in a bad stretch... he pitched well the gm before and after..... 2.2 inp 7er ????? they just may have something on the kid ... he's from fla, maybe to much pressure having to pitch @ home ...

true that but that was his 4th game of the season. He was 1-2 6.20 era in April, 3-1 2.55 era in May. I'm sure the Florida thing is not a problem. He tossed seven scoreless innings in his last start against the Rays in St. Petersburg, allowing three hits.

Take away the bad outing against FLa and Latos had a 3.57 ERA in April, so the only bad outing he has had is that Florida outing. Hopefully it is not just Fla has his number. GL SoCal.

I was there

I was there

8 rows from the SD dugout.
The kid is going to be a superstar.
He had a nice crowd of family & friends all in T-shirts that said "TEAM LATOS".
He impressed most when he faced bases loaded or crucial situations. Sure he walked a few but he was nasty with 95mph FB and then Changeups or curves.

yea he didnt have his best stuff (1 run in 6 innings) but still good enough to keep the pads in the game and get them into their bullpen which is the strength of the Pads game.

The Padres brought him up earlier than they wanted to but Matt Latos has arrived. 22 years old and good head on his shoulders. He gets up to 97 98 when he has his good stuff.

@Tallpaul33: Well, I don?t think that theycan have some good outing against FLA ever. FLA is something else I have heard about lots of times in almost all sports and center sports activities! All they need is to have some very good practice.
