How can you get a bigger catch then that?.....48-46 2 point conversion, he drops it it is game over. The catch itself is incredible. But the timing of the catch makes it that much better.

If it isn't the best ever it is top 5 that's for sure.

unfortunately....I think you are leaving out certain details that would hurt your argument....like, it's week 1 of the season. not exactly crunch time, ya know?

but hey.....I like kickserv :toast:

I can't watch the catch, Kick, because that video takes about 5 hours to load. Having said that, after 3 decades the curiosity finally got the best of me and I looked up 'Alouette.' Apparently that's French for 'lark.' I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to lock horns with the Montreal Larks.

As for great catches, does anyone remember that Todd Heap catch a few years back? I don't have the video, but he dives sideways to catch the ball, reels it in with his left hand only, then curls his arm up to rest the ball against his bicep so he doesn't drop it when he makes contact with the ground. When I saw that catch I actually laughed because it was so ridiculous. Just a regular season game but it was still an amazing catch, nonetheless.

BTW, here is the Heap catch. Not saying it's the best ever, but it's a ridiculous catch. Video quality sucks, but the replays show the catch pretty well:

I just realized that catch was TEN years ago. Good Lord. :0006 And it looks like it's actually his right hand, not his left. Again... :0006

The GREATEST TD THAT DIDN'T COUNT.

Would have tied the AFC Title Game all up in the late 3rd, but ruled incomplete . Oilers settle for FG and implode afterwards.

Fast forward to 7 minutes, 45 seconds.

<object style="height: 344px; width: 425px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JgSqto3FBcc"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JgSqto3FBcc" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></object>

Also giving the ball to Tim Wilson on the next play with Earl Campbell in the backfield didn't help. :142smilie

2 things stick out about that video:

1) The Steelers uniforms haven't changed in over 30+ years. Actually, more than that. I always knew that, but that video just drives home the point. How often do you watch a game from 1979 and the uniforms are the same as they are in 2010? If I hadn't known better, I would have believed that was the 2010 Steelers on the field. Crazy...

2) The announcers were talking about instant replay on that call in the endzone. :scared I had no idea it was even a consideration back in '79. If I remember correctly, it didn't come into the league until '86. They must have speculated over that bitch for YEARS.

And yes, that was easily a TD.

I totally agree with redsfann:00hour

Word on the street is that the kid that McCaffrey brought with him from Sienna is the real deal and the team is spending the summer running to get in shape. Might actually win more than 10 games in hoops next year. :142smilie
No word yet on Arizona tix, I'll let you know when I hear something...

dawgball...........ummm the 42 000 in attendance cared and the 3.1 million watching on TV cared.

Plus if that game was played in Greenland in front of 2 people it would still have been one hell of a catch.

How soon do some of us forget....

The greatest catch in football was by David Tyree because it happened in the 4th qtr. on a game winning drive in a SuperBowl.
