Something seems fishy about the whole ESPN hour long special to announce his decision if it just to resign with Cleveland. This smells of some big NY hoopla sort of HERE I COME deal.

Then there is this:
Twitters have started blowing up in the last hour of athletes hinting it is NY including Jared Dudley who is very tight with Amare.

Dudley's twitter:

Breaking News!!! My sources tell me Lebron will announce that he will be goin to the NY KNICKS tomorrow on ESPN.. This is serious.. WOW!!!!
That's what I'm hearing.. I don't care where he goes lol.. I personally thought he would stay in Cleveland..

And of course Ocho Cinco has to tweet about it:

#OCNNBREAKINGNEWS *Empire State of Mind* *wink* *wink*only the smart folk will put this together and figure out what i am talking about #6

http://twitter.com/ogochocinco

My guess is somebody's agent is talking.

It just seems odd to announce he is staying put for a hour long build up.
I mean what is there to talk about if he stays?
How Cavs didn't get any better and are going to be the same or worse off next year?

H=I will give it to him for milking this thing until the very end, but will be shocked if the truth is not known before annoucement.

So. Cal
i was told early tuesday afternoon from a reliable source who has contacts inside the heat front office (ie: owner/former player)

1) lebron would have some sort of national press conference to announce his decision (2-3 hours later news of his televised announcement started coming out)

2) lebron-wade-bosh decided tues late morning to all sign with miami and take the same amount to play there (wade and bosh decided to make their announcement today; surprisingly with NO terms announced......because they were waiting for the new cap to come out AND waiting for lebron to make his announcement tomorrow)

so far, 3 of the 4 things have happened exactly as i was told and i fully expect his to announce tomorrow that he's also signing with miami

and i'm a bulls fan who thought he was coming to chi or staying in clev the last month.

Well not sure where he is going to sign but this production signing on live tv just seems like more of a big deal than to just say I am staying in medicore Cleveland.

As soon as the Chris Brussard tweet came out I put $80 on the Heat -200. Gotta say I'll still put $15 or $20 on NY once it gets up to +750 or +800 tomorrow. I've just got this gut feeling. Anyway, they're at +600 now and will only go up once the news hits in the morning for those who were sleeping when it came out. Sorry to those who thought he was back to Cleveland, but he wouldn't be holding this extravagant Lebronathon on ESPN if he were going back to the midwest.

It's gonna be a historic day in the NBA tomorrow. Should be fun.

I hope he does go to Miami so they can all lose together. I don't think the lineup they'll have is better than the Lakers.

It sure sounds like Cleveland can start calling him Le"gone".

I have heard very little buzz about this signing being anything other than Miami or NY at this point.

$20 on Lebron to the Knicks +750.

I gotta gut feeling. Plus, nothing would make me happier, short of seeing them win their first title in my lifetime.

LeBron James is packing his beach bags for Miami
By Trey Kerby

With all of this meeting hosting, lawsuit fighting and television show having, LeBron James(notes) must be super stressed-out. It is not easy to be made a multi-millionaire in a matter of minutes, you guys. Ergo, it is easy to understand why he would want to kick back and unwind after this week of figuring out which team is most worthy of his considerable talents.

So that's exactly what he's doing, which is not a surprise at all. Everyone deserves a vacation now and then. However, where he'll be partying is more than a little interesting. From US Magazine, favorite of wives around the country:

LeBron James has rented six cabanas at the W Hotel South Beach this weekend to celebrate his team decision, two sources confirm to UsMagazine.com.

That adds more fuel to the fire that James, 25, will announce he's joining the Miami Heat Thursday night, as several insiders told ESPN this morning.

You know what? It is almost like LeBron James likes being in Miami. Consider the fire fueled, and the plot thickened. As any subscriber to Small Businessman Weekly can tell you, there is no better place to connect with four new teammates than in six cabanas in the town where those new teammates are employed. It's just common sense.

[Photos: See images of coveted superstar LeBron James]

Sure, Miami is a very common place to vacation and every day there is like Mardi Gras, but when you consider reports that LeBron is leaning towards joining the Heat, the increased salary cap number and the fact that this vacation takes place just days after "The Decision," things are a little more complicated. It's kind of hard to not assume that LeBron is heading to South Beach to chill with his best bros and new teammates while simulataneously making everyone in Ohio very sad.

Then again, maybe this is just the NBA version of an end of summer bash before everybody gets back to working out for the next season. Supposedly Miami brings the heat, for real. But really, if we don't see grainy pictures of Chris Bosh(notes), Dwyane Wade(notes) and James at an all-white party sometime next week, I'll be very surprised.

However, if this does turn out to be a little foreshadowing for LeBron's team choice, Cleveland is already preparing for the aftermath. From the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Michael Sangiacomo:

Whatever decision LeBron James makes tonight, the Bath Township police department is ready to maintain order near the basketball superstar's home.

Police Chief Michael McNeeley said they have an extra squad of police officers working tonight around the James home to make sure there are no problems.

"Whether we get loads of happy fans or unhappy fans showing up outside his home, we will be prepared to keep the traffic moving," he said.

Good thinking, Cleveland. Either a potential uprising will be quelled or the city's favorite son will be safe from overenthusiastic fans hoping to congratulate him. Whichever way it plays out, it sounds like everything is under control, but there have been a lot of zombie movies that started the same way. LeBron's going to need to keep his head on a swivel, for sure.

+160 he doesn't go to Miami. He is doing all this so Cleveland will love him more. With all the press about Miami he just seems like the Miami odds should be higher. If the books really believed the news he would be -400 or greater. Also don't trust the sources of the information about his move.

If he stays in Cleveland east is a 4 way toss up to see who can lose to Lakers. If he goes to Miami they win east easily. But in less the bench plays big they are probably still behind Lakers.

I hope he signs with my Knicks at least then we would be a 2 or3 team in the east. (Based on healthy Amare) Just think that line exists on Knicks right now for New Yorkers to dump their money.

Anyway just what I think.

Wake me up when he actually wins something. Hopefully when this is all over Espn can focus on Brett Farve another egomanic. Maybe Wade can teach Lebron how to make clutch shots and free throws at the end of the game.

No way he leaves Cleveland and kicks sand in their face for an hour on nat'l TV. The whole Delonte West/Mama James events and the fact that he could could never come home are reason enough.

Seriously? I would like to see you justify that with a player to player comparison and still say the Lakers are better. The only edge I would give the Lakers is coaching, but everyone know that IF this happens, Erik Spoelstra is going to develop some "family problems" and Pat Riley will be coach again. Then there is little to no edge...

And you know that Riley is licking his chops as we speak.

"Major League" and Art Mondale sure didn't seem to have a problem. I don't think there is much respect for Cleveland when it comes to sports...

But really why bother with an hour press conference if he wasn't leaving?

As someone who grew up 20 min from Akron, I hope he stays. I just doubt it
