No

Be honest and open. Start legislating for we the people instead of corporations. Almost all legislators have problems in this area. You would be surprised how easily you get voted in.

No

No

None

We already have several parties. A strong independent could easily walk into the white house in 2012 if SCOTUS hadn't fucked things up.

Are you happy with the way things are in Washington ?

No, I don't think our elected leaders are representative of our population, but I do respect the system. Unfortunately the system created the majority in the Supreme Court that has now allowed big business to have an excessive amount of control of our electoral process - something I think will make things much worse for those of us who care.

What direction would like to see the Party go ?

If you mean the democratic party, I would like to see it take a realistic look at spending, and agree to cut some programs it historically has championed.

Do you think Hilary is a better choice to lead the Party in '12 ?

Yes, definitely. I think she was a better choice in 2010, and I'm convinced of that at this point.

Do you think the Republicans will win the majority in November ?

No, but I think they will make serious inroads to the number. The minority party always does, historically. And I'd guess they will seriously contend for the majority in two years after that, if our economic situation doesn't improve quite a bit.

Which Republican do you fear most as a challenger for the Whitehouse in '12 ?

Probably Mitt Romney, if he has a solid VP candidate, perhaps a ticket like Romney/Pawlenty, or something like that.

Do you think a third party is needed ?

Probably, although I'm not sure what that would do to the checks and balances system. I don't think the Supreme Court ruling will help that along, either. I think it could be great if the third party candidate believed in the best issues of both of the current two parties, and was realistic about issues.

No problem Ass Eyes... (I'm kidding Lumi)

Are you happy with the way things are in Washington ?

No one is happy with the way things are in Washington.

What direction would like to see the Party go?

Less Militarism and go Green baby!

Do you think Hilary is a better choice to lead the Party in '12 ?

Not a chance. She's too hawkish and too entrenched in Washington politics.

Do you think the Republicans will win the majority in November ?

I have NO idea.

Which Republican do you fear most as a challenger for the Whitehouse in '12 ?

In spite of growing discontent, I really don't see anyone on the horizon right now that could seriously challenge Obama. But a lot can change in 2 years. If the RNC had a clue, they'd try to get a moderate like Paul Ryan to run in 2012. He could do some damage. But Michael Steele's clueless, so I don't see that happening.

Do you think a third party is needed ?

As I've said before, the Presidential debates need to be opened to any party that can demonstrate a national following. But that scares the hell out of the Dems and the Rebs.

Although I've only voted Democrat twice: 92 and 08, I think that qualifies me to take your pop quiz.

I'd like to elaborate on Hillary. Hillary would have also been attacked from all sides and criticized mercilessly. It is hard to think it would be worse than Obama, but it would be. Conservatives will never have their thirst quenched when it comes to the Clintons. I also feel Hillary would go all in with the revenge card.

She is effective where she is and she is able to lose any comparisons to her husband while doing it.

read a quote, I say, where he says that he felt he wouldn't be properly human if he didn't know what war was. "There was something bugging me," he says. "Yale was a problem for me. I was not a happy young man. I didn't feel good in my skin. I'm glad I left but it was very painful at the time. My father thought I was pissing away my life. I was becoming an infantry soldier and I was going to become one of life's unfortunates. I wasn't going to amount to much. He was worried. And frankly so was I."

You've spent the rest of your life proving him wrong? "In a way, although it took me years. Coming back from Vietnam was extremely difficult. My father did, towards the end of his life, believe that Vietnam was a mistake, but we had many, many fights about it."

What would your father have made of the Wall Street of the last few years? I ask. "Look, he was pissed off when we left the gold standard in '73, although'73 is actually very interesting. It's a really crucial year, because the income of the average working man flattened out in '73 and never went up in spending ability. But meanwhile the productivity of America went up like this. Where did that money go? It went to CEOs and stock holders. It went to the banks."

...............................................................

can anyone guess who this is ?

alot of truth in that last paragraph

Actually the "who do you fear most" republican question can be looked at two ways. I think I fear Romney as perhaps the most challenging to the win. I fear Sarah Palin the most, if she should happen to win, as I think she is frighteningly unsuited to lead this country, and I do think there could be enough people buy into her pandering enough to energize a campaign.

I wonder what a Palin/Paul or Paul/Palin ticket would do to the landscape? Might be a real challenge - although I don't think either is interested in working with the other, or playing second fiddle at this point.

Good point Chad,

When I asked the question my original intent was not the fear of an idiot. Just the fear of who would knock the boss of the top of the mountain. But most definatately Sarah is one to fear as a powerful force on the right and her ding bat views. Of the mainstream Reps out there, Gov Huckabee, to me seems to be the most reasonable and likeable candidate.

On the outside always looking in are the Pauls who always take a large chunk of that vote. After the 08 Campaign Ron will be a much stronger candidate and if he ever goes one on vs. the Mama Bear, it will be bad, really bad ! But don't worry Sister Sarah fans, Faux Noize will spin it to where she wins the debate and Ron is an extremist and a bitter old man.

TU, it is truly dumb founding. Absolutely no change in the wannabe's, except a governor who quits on her state. Newt must be out of his mind thinking he is at all important after being run out of Washington. And Jindahl, I hope he hides his IQ in a real safe place.

Only Romney has a shot out of anyone on that list. The rest of them look like fools 80% of the time (Palin 99.9%).

My previous comment is in related to any chance to win a general election. Who knows what the hell the GOP will do with themselves. We can see by this poll that they are fucking nuts. I would love for them to nominate Palin. She has NO shot in a general election. I would wager any amount of money against her becoming president.
