Preseason Play....

As another season starts, I am going to try to be more selective in my plays this year....We will see how long that lasts....lol. As in previous years, all plays will be 2* unless noted.

Jax.+3....vs. Phil.

Last year Jax. lost to Phil & it was during preseason. So I am looking for Jax. to be a little more up for this game.

Also it doesn't seem like Andy Reid puts much credence in preseason openers as evidence by a 0-6 SU / ATs record in his last 6 openers.

On the other hand, Jack Del Rio is 9-2 ATS on the road in August games & is a 9-1-1 ATS as a dog in pre-season play.

I can't find an article that I once read that states that it is pretty profitable, during preseason, in betting on teams that did not make the playoffs last year against teams that did make the playoffs last year. Since Jax. has had b2b losing seasons, I look for them to be sharper than Phil., a team in transisition.

FWIW. this is exactly the type of play that I'm looking for in the preseason, a motivated short dog on the first half line vs. a disinterested foe.

Del Rio and Reid's numbers speak volumes about how much they cares to win these affairs. On top of that The Eagles are breaking in Kevin Kolb at QB who is still somewhat of an unknown quality. Kolb will be followed by Vick and I am anxious to read the Philly papers to see if Andy tips his hand as far as how many snaps that his key players will receive.

I also really like the fact That the Jags are coming off a short two day trip to train with and against the Atlanta Falcons. To me, this indicates that Del Rio has some intent to try to have his team a bit sharper and a little more ready to play this first game.

The stars seem to be aligned here and I will almost certainly be on the Jags with you as well in this spot.

Del Rio's record SU and ATS is far superior to that of Reid's in preseason...but...the Eagles QB rotation is much better than that of the Jaguars with Kolb, Vick and Kafka (the Northwestern rookie who's really impressed in camp) VS Garrard, McCown and Harris...however...Del Rio has always had a win at all costs mentality so you might be on to something here.
