OK I now many of us will bet on just about anything, but this just seems wrong.

5Dimes has odds on the Little League games.

I will never forget many years ago I was in Vegas on the day of the title game.
My friend went to the window and asked the guy if there were odds on the game.
The guy at Mirage said "Dude what is wrong with you, they are just kids." :mj07:
I told him he was going to be offended by the idea and I was standing there laughing as he told the guy to just wait and see someday the odds on this thing will be everywhere.

I don't think my buddy could have even imagined the New England Regional Championship game having odds on it. :142smilie

I remember when I was a kid that Chinese Taipei team was unstoppable. And the US teams didn't seem to be as good back then, but I could be remembering wrong.

On a sidenote, is it just me or are these kids WAY more emotional than when you and I played Little League? :mj07: I realize they are just kids so they can't shake things off the way a pro can, but some of it is just amazing. I saw a kid look like he was going to cry the other day because of a called strike one. I could MAYBE see it if he was getting rung up, but it was strike one fer Chrissakes!

Played in the Dizzy Dean World Series in 88. Will never forget it. I keep meaning to go through the directory to see how many players went on the the MLB...

Those "kids" from Chinese Taipei were 20 so maybe that explains the dominate performances back in the day.

And I have to say if my dad knew he could throw down cash on my game as a kid then I can 100% tell you he would have been encouraging me to dump a game if I was pitching.

Can hear him now saying "I am getting +265 on them, how does a new bike sound."

Money heals all wounds.

Not a bad deal if you ask me. But I wouldn't do it for a Schwinn or a Huffy. I would hold out for a Mongoose. :SIB

All this talk of betting on Little League games and I forgot to ask:

Kickserv -- who did you take in the New England Regional Game? :142smilie

You were the first person to come to mind on who is betting this.

Above the Clouds....
Probably 20 years the football card came out and had the class A high school championship game on it. People were saying back then it just wasn't right. I still have the card.

How could this be right?

http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/DISD-to-create-special-school-for-students-over-21-100598074.html

Last year alone, the Dallas Independent School District had 780 students who are considered overage, which means they ranged from 21 to 26-years-old.

25-year old high school man-student?

As crazy as it sounds, I probably could have passed for a high school kid when I was 25. I've always looked a good 7 or 8 years younger than I am. Well, except for when I was 11. :142smilie

My kind of action....although I prefer "layin' it down" on Under 12's in hockey. If you know what kids can't skate and what kids can you can make a killing. In December I made about 300K taking the over on all the games. When kids can't skate they tend to give up lots of goals:mj07:

Also, under 7 T-ball is a good moneymaker:SIB

What's wrong with it? I say bet away. Definitely makes it more interesting.....and the kids will cry with you when you lose.

Well when I lose and am on a cold streak I tend to take it out on the person(s) responsible.
Something not right about blaming kids for the reason I am taking wife to Taco Bell instead of Outback.
Although she is mexican so she can deal with it.

Actually, Taiwan?s success wasn?t that they broke the age rules. They broke the residency rules.

What they did was form 1 All-star team rather than based on local communities. So instead of forming an all-star teams by town (in the US qualifiers the all-star team from say Tallahassee competes against the All-Star team from the next town over etc.) they would form a country-wide All-star team, drawing upon a pool of players much much larger than one town in the US could compete with.

Oh ok sorry.
I guess you are right since the Chinese seem to lie about age the other way based on how old they say their female gymnists are.

I guess you can't have it both ways. :142smilie
