Sheeeit, that's $33,333 for every Iraqi, man, woman and child, most of whom are worth less than skulnuts.

It's also $ 6 million dollars per square mile for that shitheap. That's 15 times the price of the best Iowa farmland.

We could have simply bought that entire shithole for less than that, sterilized every square inch of it, planted it in soybeans, and made a nice profit.

Where's Warren Buffet when we need him?

Not to mention the BILLIONS unaccounted for. I'm at a loss as to why none of these tea baggees are upset about this waste of taxpayer money.

KHABARI CROSSING, Kuwait ? As their convoy reached the barbed wire at the border crossing out of Iraq on Wednesday, the soldiers whooped and cheered. Then they scrambled out of their stifling hot armored vehicles, unfurled an American flag and posed for group photos.

For these troops of the 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, it was a moment of relief fraught with symbolism. Seven years and five months after the U.S.-led invasion, the last American combat brigade was leaving Iraq, well ahead of President Barack Obama's Aug. 31 deadline for ending U.S. combat operations there.

In a statement released by email, the president noted that the drawdown has been significant -- but isn't over yet:

Over the last 18 months, over 90,000 U.S. troops have left Iraq. By the end of this month, 50,000 troops will be serving in Iraq. As Iraqi Security Forces take responsibility for securing their country, our troops will move to an advise-and-assist role. And, consistent with our agreement with the Iraqi government, all of our troops will be out of Iraq by the end of next year. Meanwhile, we will continue to build a strong partnership with the Iraqi people with an increased civilian commitment and diplomatic effort.

P.J. Crowley, a spokesman for the State Department, told MSNBC that this is "an historic moment" that marks the end of Operation Iraqi Freedom, but not the end of the U.S. mission in Iraq.
___

EDITOR'S NOTE: The 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division was officially designated the last combat brigade to leave Iraq under Obama's plan to end combat operations in Iraq by Aug. 31. Associated Press writer Rebecca Santana joined the troops on their final journey out of the country.

Studies have shown that Tea Baggers suffer from a mental disorder, commonly referred to as "Neoconservatism", that prevents them from connecting military spending to big government. ;)

I see you got your normal clan biting again--

Fact of the matter--

Congress has approved $1.05 trillion dollars for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the National Priorities Project, a nonpartisan budget research group that has a continuously running war cost counter on its website.
The tally topped $1 trillion last month, when U.S. lawmakers approved the fiscal 2010 defense spending bill that included $128 billion to be spent on the two conflicts through Sept. 30. The trillion-dollar total includes war-related costs incurred by the State Department, like embassy security.

Considering the total cost of both wars have just hit 1 trillion that means Afgan war(our longest in history) hasn't cost anything per your assertion Muffins. :SIB

ya all carry on with your propaganda projects--

So your point is that $1 Trillion is OK as long as it covers the cost of both wars? What about the budget deficits you keep whining about?

Just go here:

http://costofwar.com/

When I checked at about 7:15AM today, the combined cost of both wars was at $1 Trillion, 68 Billion.

What I said is his assertion of Iraq war costing 1 trillion was a blatant lie and about as credible as Scott 's Cnn poll with majority thinking mosque is good idea.

You can peddle that BS all day long on your liberal blogs--but you can expect to get exposed here.

Actually, doggie, we're on the hook for far more than $i trillion for Iraq. We've got many billions of future payments - retirement, disability, medical to pay for. The checks may not have been written, but the financial obligation is real.

Like I said, we could have bought that entire stink-hole for less than what it's costing us.

Of course you neocons don't know how to calculate bottom lines.

Sorta' like "children are free", eh?

One of the internet papers I read everyday is
CNN

when I post a poll it is right from their daily
page.

you can easily go in there and check the numbers yourself.

I have no reason to lie about what America thinks about things

I will go find the one they have for today.

Then you can go to cnn.com and check it.

The recently remarried Limbaugh made a cool $58.5 million during the same period. Heading into his 22nd year in national syndication, he remains the country's most listened to talk radio host with more than 15 million tuning in each week. Compensated handsomely for that continued attention, Limbaugh's show contributed $52 million to his already thick wallet. His highly trafficked website and publishing added another $5 million and $1.5 million, respectively.
.............................................................

Just think about this for a minute.

How can you even trust what anyone says making this kind of money. They will say anything to just keep chit stirred up.

He is no better than the top millioniare Senators and the rest of them. How stupid can these ppl be.? Its hypocrite times at its finest.

A blatant lie???

For several years now, economists have been projecting the true cost of the Iraq & Afghanistan wars will likely top $3 Trillion!!!

Here's one such article from Feb./2008...

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Starred Review. Readers may be surprised to learn just how difficult it was for Nobel Prize-winning economist Stiglitz and Kennedy School of Government professor Bilmes to dig up the actual and projected costs of the Iraq War for this thorough piece of accounting. Using "emergency" funds to pay for most of the war, the authors show that the White House has kept even Congress and the Comptroller General from getting a clear idea on the war's true costs. Other expenses are simply overlooked, one of the largest of which is the $600 billion going toward current and future health care for veterans. These numbers reveal stark truths: improvements in battlefield medicine have prevented many deaths, but seven soldiers are injured for every one that dies (in WWII, this ratio was 1.6 to one). Figuring in macroeconomic costs and interest-the war has been funded with much borrowed money-the cost rises to $4.5 trillion; add Afghanistan, and the bill tops $7 trillion. This shocking expose, capped with 18 proposals for reform, is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand how the war was financed, as well as what it means for troops on the ground and the nation's future.
