I just got an e-mail from a long time friend who told me that a mutual friend died, but he doesn't know what the cause of death was....Is there anyway that I can find out the cause of death ?

Thanks....

Most local newspapers run online obits' that you can search if you know the city and aprox date of death. As I am sure that you know, some do contain the cause and some don't. I went through a similar plight not too long ago and I finally called his sister who told me what happened (suicide) without me directly asking for the cause.

If true, sorry to hear that you lost a friend

Try your High School Memorial page. I was astonished at how many friends from high school had already passed.

I checked the local paper & there was a paragraph on my friend, but no cause of death was noted....Although we were great friends for many years, I hadn't spoken to either him or his wife in close to 20 years & since he died last November, I feel funny calling his wife....

Thannks fcp....

We didn't go to the same high school & I forgot which school he attended....Since my friend retired as a Lt. in the NYFD, I tried googling their site, but couldn't find any info....

Thanks Woody....

AR, if it was anyone different on this site I wouldn't say this but since it's you I'm going to. Call her man! It's been a long time but we all know the older you get the more years pass by and the less that matters. You never know, it might make her feel really good that one of his old friends took the time to call her. She may really be needing someone to share stories with her from his past.

I second the suggestion to phone his widow. She'll more than likely volunteer the cause b4 u even have a chance to ask.
