I do not cap all of the conferences but do look hard at teams from the mid-west. The advantage being that I get to see these teams play a lot and information is much more available to me.

Here we go.

Marshall +28' L

This is a nice situational play as Ohio St has Miami on deck in a rematch of the "03 national championship.

I think that Marshall may be on the rise again with the hire of first year coach Doc Holliday. He's learned from the best and did some nice things working under Urban Meyer at Fla. He appears to be a great choice and will be a good fit for the Herd.

Marshall is a gritty team that really isn't great in any specific phase but they do have a solid front on both sides of the ball. Their LBs look to be a nice bunch but the question mark is their defensive backs after the booting off of the team of thug Bembry after his being arrested for the third time. He was clearly their best DB so this group will be tested. The bulk of the secondary now will consist of young and inexperienced guys. Still I think that their defense is their biggest asset and should allow them to hang around.

The Buckeyes are loaded. Everybody knows it but I think that Tressel will play it close to the vest as he has frequently demonstrated in past early non conference tilts vs over matched opponents.

Last year, Navy almost left Columbus with a win. They seriously had Ohio State on the ropes and probably deserved to win that game.

Prior to that, Ohio U covered in '08 and OSU allowed Akron to cover twice as the Buckeyes played their first lined game in recent seasons.

The Herd themselves came in in '04 and played the bucks very tough before losing 24-21. Marshall will come in highly motivated and well coached. I truly believe that the Herd is sound enough on both sides of the ball to cover this huge number. I really can see nothing but a Marshall cover here. That hook looks nice as well.

Very strong under trends as well but I'll just be on the side here.

Other games that I am on are:

N Illinois +4' L
N Ill / Iowa St under 51 W

Arizona -15 vs lowly Toledo W
AZ/Toledo over 60 L

I really like this one
Cinci +3 L
Cinci/ Fresno over 58 L

Purdue +11 vs ND Push
Army -9' vs EMU L
Fla -35 vs Miami OL

I will try to return with a little more reasoning on these games before N Illinois kicks off tomorrow.

Gl--thought you liked W iMch earlier?

You are indeed correct my friend. But after spending much time on some other games there came a time when I had to cut back on recommending them in my post even though I actually did make small plays on Western and Akron in the role of the dog. Lots of changes in these two programs this year so I have to hold off on making a full unit play until I get a better read on them

In this case it came down to me being very concerned with their defense and the replacement of a very talented offensive backfield. I watched them several times last year and I thought that they were a very underachieving squad. Also, I often thought Cubit wasn't pressing the right buttons and that he might no longer be as good of a coach that I always thought he was. I really need two or three weeks to get a truly good read on this bunch.

Thanks BMac and Al for the positive vibe !

Thanks Poon, I was going to write this one up so I'll just do it now.

Kelly bolted but certainly didn't leave the cupboards bare in Cincy. The new coach Butch Jones did a nice job at CMU so I see him as a good fit here as well.

Despite the loss of Marty Gilyard who was one of the most exciting players anywhere, this team still has some great high powered offensive talent. Zach Collaros is a stud and he can make a big play when things break down. He also throws a very good ball and he's very accurate. Collaros pretty much proved it when filling in for Pike when he was down last year. I believe that he is a very special talent and think that he is even better than Pike who was drafted into the NFL. In fact he is a lot like Dan LeFevour, also drafted, whom Jones coached last year. A legit duel threat QB that can hurt a defense in a lot of ways, Collaros will have a huge season if he can stay healthy.

The receivers are awesome. Binns, Jones and newcomer Hazelton who comes in as a transfer from USC and by all accounts will be a nice addition into the Cincy offense. They also have a real nice RB as well who's name escapes me right now.

The nice thing about the total play is that their defense can give em up almost as fast as they score.

I really don't know a whole lot bout Fresno other than they like to be physical and run the ball well. This should play out well against the Bearcats despite the loss of Matthews who is going in the first round of quite a few fantasy drafts. They will still run it well but I just think that Cinciy can out score them in what should be a high powered shootout.

This is probably my favorite play of them all, both side and total.

1-2 Thursday, Adding three props and that will be it for the weekend.

Toledo has a nice pass and catch combo in Dantin/Paige and a defense that can give up more big scores than a pinball machine. The Rocket secondary is OK by MAC standards but way outclassed by AZ QB Foles and a flock of very good receivers.

For Cincy, Collaros is flat out a stud that can hurt a defense with his arm or legs. He has three top receivers with quick strike ability.Butch Jones has landed in a great spot with this offense that may be just as good as the '09 version that notched 39 a game last year. The bad news for Cincy is that there lots of holes in the Bearcat defense that will likely give up a few big plays.

AZ/TOL: Longest TD over 57" yards -115 L
Cincy Team points : Over 27' -115 L
Cincy/Fresno Longest TD: Over 54' -115 W
