Scott-

Did you watch Navy/Maryland game?

Navy had 478 yards offense---twice what Maryland gained.
..............................................................

I think fletcher was the last person to say that to me. Whatever happened to him ?

Navy gashed Maryland on the ground because of their triple-option scheme, which is about a 95% run-based scheme. It's near impossible to stop. You can only try to contain it. That's why Navy nearly beat Ohio St and GA Tech won the ACC last year.

The problem this week for WVU's is their scheme is nothing like the triple option. Therefore, using Navy's stats to predict how well WVU's run game will do, is irrelevant and moot.

Go to the bank Wilson.

Take the 10 points and slam it down.

There is no doublt the West Virg Mountaineers
will be breathing fire. That Marshall game was just too close, and West Virginia is a proud program.

If you think the Terps are any less motivated you haven't been paying attention. First, it's West Virginia. Second, no matter how you slice it, that win over NAVY was significant. The Middies ... are a good program and have been for quite a while now. Those two goal line stands say a lot about the character of the Terps.

Despite the near misses last season, and many close losses. The Terps fought every down and every minute.

Maryland may well lose in Morgantown, but the
eeers are going to know they were in a battle until the end.

Baylor has a defensive line is about as good as I've seen them in years... so TCU will not run all over them. Dalton very well may have a great game... possibly throwing for 4 TD's. I doubt that TCU will earn a TD on the ground that is more than 10 yards... it will be a grudge match in the trenches. RG3 will need the game of his career in order to Win the game for Baylor. Finley will also need to step up and so will Salubi. Givin' it up to TCU... one of the most solid recieving cores in all of College Football... heck better than UT. I actually believe that special teams will make the difference in this game... including 2pt conversions.

1st Qtr Baylor 7 TCU 13
Halftime - Baylor 17 TCU 23
3rd Qtr Baylor 24 TCU 23
Game Baylor 31 TCU 33

NCAA turns down appeal of A.J. Green suspension
6:41 pm September 17, 2010, by Tim Tucker

(Updated 8 p.m.)

Georgia will have to play without star wide receiver A.J. Green for two more games, including today?s against Arkansas in Sanford Stadium.

An NCAA committee Friday rejected Georgia?s appeal of the four-game suspension handed Green last week for selling his Independence Bowl jersey for $1,000 to a person the NCAA considers an agent.

Georgia had hoped to have the suspension shortened, but the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee, after hearing the appeal by conference call Friday morning, informed UGA officials late in the day that the original penalty will stand.

That means Green, who sat out Georgia?s first two games, will remain sidelined for the crucial game against Arkansas and the Sept. 25 game at Mississippi State. He?ll be eligible to return in the Oct. 2 game at Colorado.

While the original suspension was imposed by NCAA staff, the appeal was heard by a committee consisting of officials from colleges and conferences across the country. The committee rejected Georgia?s appeal without public comment. The ruling was disclosed by UGA on Friday evening.

?We respect the committee?s decision and will focus on moving forward,? athletic director Greg McGarity said in a statement.

The NCAA?s investigation of Green, a junior who is widely projected as a high NFL draft pick if he turns pro next year, began in July as part of a series of probes at a number of schools into dealings between football players and agents.
.........................................................

Kinda figured they would keep this suspension as it was.

Georgia will really miss Green tomorrow.

So Green sells a signed shirt for a grand.

hmmmmmmm

- Barkley admits to getting money from agents while he was in college and claims that most people borrow money. Barkley didn't get any substantial money from the agents, just "chump change," which he paid back once he got to the NBA. Ironically, the only agent that didn't give him money is the one he signed with, and he ended up being a crook. This is common practice in the '80s and it still goes on today. He also makes a distinction bewteen borrowing a little "walking around money" and getting enough money to buy a house. He thinks everyone who is on scholarship should receive a stipend.
.................................................................

Barkley borrowed chump change. This is the guy who bets 30 grand per hand of blackjack in Vegas ?

This is a huge problem in college athletics and something has to be done with this. Going back this far with Barkely taking cash just shows you have purvasive this.

The players need money.

Pay the athlete on a per semester basis but
Pay on a sliding scale based on GPA and only during the season. For instance; have a base rate of $2,000/semester (= $125/week) for any student/athlete who maintains a C average the previous semester with a full-time courseload. If the athelete maintains an A average, it goes up to $3,000/semester, a B average, $2,500 semester, a D average will cut it down to $1,500/semester, and an F average means you get nothing.

$125/week doesn't sound like much but remember, these guys don't pay for tuition, books, food, or housing.

I think that walking around 125 per week would be chump change for Barkley though. I would say Barkely probably pulled down a thousand a week.

WHen he signed his millions contract with NBA he paid that off first.

Maybe a few hundred grand. Who thinks this dont go on everyday ?

This was the worse line of the week as it opened at 13 and will probably end at 8.5. Devine is great for W Virginia but, that is all they have and he can only run and catch the ball so many times against a physical team.

the line is down because there is good support for this dog.... as a dog first better, bad news for this pup... mary is a physical team ??? news to me...
