Hasselbeck was 18 for 23 against SF what do you think Brees will do.

Its Saints are no bet for me.

I just asked myself...

and I came up with;

Frank Gore, at home, getting 6 points on Monday night Football..

.....AND THE DEFENSE KNOWS THIS TOO. THEY WILL CLAMP DOWN ON GORE AND TAKE AWAY THE RUNNING GAME. WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN WHEN THE 49ER OFFENSE HAS TO RELY ON THE PASSING GAME TO WIN ????? LOTS OF SACKS AND PICKS.....:sadwave:

Easier said than done. NO was #21 in the league against the run last year, so they would need to play over their heads to shut down Gore.

I don't disagree that Smith isn't very good, and if the Saints can shut down Gore it will put the Niners in a bad spot. I'm just very surprised how everyone keeps overlooking the fact that the Saints D is pretty bad. :shrug:

Every time I have seen a team try and "clamp down" on Gore, they weren't very successful. In this league playing at home and playing away is like night and day. 6 points is too much in this spot..

Bingo. Road teams usually struggle, and home teams usually play well. I don't claim to understand it, but homefield is huge in both college and the NFL.

If you wanted to see a lousy ass quarterback on Monday night just remember back to last Monday and remember how Sanchez looked..........well he came back very nicely yesterday and came up with a must win game for the Jets......Alex Smith could have a great game tonight and Brees could be off........It's the NFL......any team is capable of winning any game......Good luck to Alex Smith and me and all other Niner backers tonight
