Vick Named Starter in Philly

Well that didn't take long... less than24 hours after saying Kolb was the starter, the Eagles announced via text message that Michael Vick was the first team QB and this was not concussion related.

IMO this gives Philly a much better chance to win games starting Vick rather than Kolb. This is the right move and is a no-brainer. With Vick's scrambling ability, he adds a dimension that Kolb cannot offer.

Agree!!! Not to mention I picked him up in fantasy last week....:0074 He's like having another RB plus it looks like he's improved on his passing. Philly's defense needs to improve though...they are terrible so far.

This move was based solely on the fact that the Eagles are a passing team and the oline is in tatters and cannot provide Kolb the protection he would need to develope into the QB Andy thinks he is. Playing Kolb under those circumstances would kill the kids confidence and could get the kid killed. Andy made this decision based on that and that alone. The Eagles will need to address the oline situation next offseason but in the meantime Michael Vick gets you some wins.

I don't disagree with the point that you're making. However, given the poor o-line play of the Eagles, it's even more reason to start Vick over Kolb due to his mobility. Andy Reid is doing what's best for the team, and not any individual.

All of the Vick naysayers just got proved wrong again this week. This guy makes Philly click on all cylinders. Kolb couldn't do this. Guy is a helluva athlete.
