Phil was my favorite cast member, followed by the Hillstrands. Was never really a big Sig fan so I won't miss him, but they're going to be hard-pressed to make the show entertaining now, IMO.

Yeah, that would be my guess. I remember last season Edgar kept hinting that he was going to quit, so maybe he finally did? There really isn't a Hansen boat with no Hansens. :scared

I don't mind that they will be bringing in "Fresh Blood". Although it does suck that "litigation" is the reason. :(

Although maybe both sides will "feel bad" and "bury the hatchet"

So I guess it is possible that they may be back on camera:shrug:

I am sure there are a bunch of crews that would do anything to get on the show. I can't see the show not showing some "new blood".

Filming has not started yet, so I guess we shall see what happens?

Maybe we can get a boat with Anna Torv, and Jennifer Love Hewitt as co-captains. That would be a boat I'd like to see in action:brows:

I think the Discovery Channel may want to "call off the lawyers". I don't know the full story, but getting rid of these three guys may not be the smartest move. The number one show on their network and now 4 stars are gone (Phil died). I think fans might be a tad pissed that they left because of litigation.

Something tells me that ratings will be down and we may see these three back. They better find a boat with a bunch of hot chicks or some executives at Discovery may be thrown in the Bering Sea:scared

I like how "Kickserv" keeps "using" a bunch of "quotes" in all of his "posts." It makes me wonder how much of what he's saying is "serious." :142smilie

Getting back on-topic though, I may be a hardass but I won't hold it against Discovery for the litigation aspect. If there really was a breach of contract by these guys, then I think they have every right to sue them. That is of course if there was a breach of contract. I just can't see Discovery sueing these guys if they didn't have good reason though -- the show is a cash cow and those are some of the most popular guys on it. Sueing them without cause would be incredibly dumb.

I couldn't even finish watching it after Captain Phil passed away so I won't be watching the show anymore. I'll stick with the First 48.

The issue is around the spinoff they were doing called "hilstranded"
The brothers wouldn't sit for final interviews and editing.

Thus, it ruined the relationship for deadliest catch. Sign is quitting as a show of support from what I understand
