Rumors that TCU is talking to Big East.

JoeFrog, what do you think man?

For the Big East it would be very smart for two reasons. One they would add a very good football program and right now they need that. Two, it would give their teams a base in the DFW area for recruiting.

If TCU does indeed want to look at moving I will be very dissapointed in the Big 12 if they don't look at them. For the same reasons as above but also because they really need to add two teams once Neb and Colo leave so they can have the conference championship game.

There is no reason for the Big 12 to look at TCU. They add no revenue and no tv sets. Yes they have a nice football but to add them and let them split money is just giving away money.

TCU should jump at the Big East if it offers.

My first reaction was no way. But, why keep hoping and wishing for the MWC to get AQ status when the Big East already has it. So now I say Hell Yeah!

There are some talking heads on tv and radio that keep saying it doesn't make sense geographically and the travel costs would be higher. That's a bunch of bull. It makes the same amount of sense as TCU does in the MWC and travel would be about the same. The difference is there would be more fights back to Texas and at better hours.

Louisville and Cincinnati came into the Big East and rose to the top quickly. Of course they are now on their way down due to their coaches leaving, but TCU won't have that problem. Gary Patterson is not looking for that next big job. Getting AQ status for TCU would help to keep him at TCU. That would be the only reason for him to leave TCU. He wants TCU to play for a NC. It would be easier in the Big East.

TCU would no longer have to go undefeated to make it to a BCS Bowl. The recruit that bypass TCU for not being in an AQ conference will now give TCU a fair look.

Yeah, I can't see how they don't do it at this point. If they keep up their pace they'll be king of the hill upon entrance.

I agree. It took Louisville two years and Cincy 3 years to win the conference. No reason to believe TCU couldn't do it too.

Joe have spoke to people at WVU and Pitt on this who i am friends with and it could be a go, helps both parties out, gives Big East a small but a market in Texas and gives TCU a a nice sports confrence. Also have been told looking at ucf , houston and ecu . baylor was also in that mix. TCU is who they want first. Then ucf +1. nova want to make jump don't see that happing.

There was some blog site that said TCU is balking at Nova being added for football. I can't possibly understand that rumor. I think TCU will be on board if there are no other backroom deals going on with other conferences on the immediate horizon. The endgame has always been for TCU to be in an AQ conference. If this is the only option, then let it be done.
