Sox weather update for Friday night
Here is a Red Sox press releases with a weather update for the Fenway Park area for Friday night:
The current weather forecast (provided by the Red Sox private weather service, Telvent DTN) in the vicinity of Fenway Park calls for light to moderate rain showers throughout the afternoon and early evening hours. Conditions are expected to improve as the evening progresses.
The Fenway Park gates are scheduled to open at the regular time of 5:10 p.m., and the Red Sox are hopeful that tonight?s game against the New York Yankees, which is scheduled to start at 7:10 p.m., will be played. However, the Red Sox want to alert our fans to the current forecast and to the possibility of delay.
This forecast is of course subject to change as the day progresses. Additional updates will be provided as necessary.

It will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader Saturday, with the first game beginning at 4:10 p.m. and the nightcap at 9:05 p.m.
Even though the Yankees were rained out, they took over sole possession of first place in the AL East when Tampa Bay lost at Kansas City 7-0.
The scheduled game at Fenway Park was called after a delay of 3 hours, 23 minutes. Andy Pettitte(notes) had been slated to start for New York against Red Sox right-hander Daisuke Matsuzaka(notes).
