50-54, big plays 8-1

couple of regular plays to open it up...

Boise Over 63'

I think this all comes down to if you think that La Tech can scrape up 14 or better. I do and if so, this game should go over.

BG/CMU under 51

These two teams that are used to scoring early and often over the years are all of a sudden finding points pretty tough to come by. BG in particular has been crippled with key injuries while CMU's OL is being stretched pretty thin as well.

The real story here is that both teams featured backs are questionable for this one. With Geter getting one touch for BG while Cotton sat out week 8 these are two very key injuries.I am playing this one no matter because having one or both of these guys on the field keeps the clock running but some may wish to keep an eye on the injury reports..

Still looking for a big one.....

LOL :142smilie yep the beatles white album came to mind when I was getting ready to call this thread week NUMBER9. I don't know how old is really old but it's safe to say that I've been around the block a few times as I sense you have too.

I have the first play in the bank so I'm optimistic for the week though I've yet to come up with a big play. There are 2 or 3 candidates but I'm just not sold this week as of now.

thursday action

Lean only

Fla St / NC State under 60 (Bodog) I like this one and if forced to play a side I would use the dog on flat bets. Not going with a flat play but like a two team tease.

I am playing a two team 7pt teaser tonight, regular 1unit play :

FSU +3
FSU under 67

GL all, enjoy your weekend

Found one that I have some confidence in. This will be a large play (5x)

Nothern Illinois / Western Mich OVER 53'.

This is a pretty low number to get over for the Mac's two best offensive teams. Weather projection is for a beautiful day with zero chance of rain.

If Northern has a weakness it just may be their secondary. I feel that Western QB Carder has the ability to exploit the Huskies DBs for some big plays. Carder is a nice duel threat QB and one of the best in the conference. On the other side of the ball, NIU should move the ball at will against a very suspect WMU defense. NIU's Spann and Harnish are two of the best weapons in the conference.

If there is a concern about this one it would be that NIU will run Spann a lot, chewing up some clock but I think that there will be enough big plays by both teams to push it over.

This is Northern's last real test in the MAC and I also feel that Western may keep this one close. W Mich coach Bill Cubit generally gets a lot from his guys in big games and this one fits the bill. Western is still highly alive in the MAC West race so NIU will get Westerns best shot. The Broncs really don't have a quality win but they have hit their stride over the last three games and are playing good football. The Broncs even played fairly well at ND but turnovers did them in.

NIU has started off fairly slow in a few of ther games and generally wears down their foes in the second half so I am also making a one unit play on:

Western Mich +4' First half.
Thats it until Saturday, GL all

FCP,

Im looking at going big on NIU -7

Would have stayed away but looking at the weather report, this one could be a rout. It looks like the wind is going to be over 20mph all game. That plays into the hands of NIU, in my opinion. If they have to battle it out on the ground, we are looking at a team (NIU) who is 11th in rushing offense in the country with 247 yards per game vrs. a Western Michigan rushing O who is 106th with 98 yards per game.

I normally wouldn't touch this under normal conditions, but with WMU relying so heavily on the pass (15th in the country in passing O), I think the wind will be a factor in messing up their game plan.

Any thoughts?

Air, If the winds are a big factor it would be a plus for the Huskies, no doubt. The W Mich running attack is almost non existant while nobody in the MAC is better than Spann.

The number has fallen to an attractive level.

MC, Thanks, it will take WMU's very best shot but it can be done. I've watched a lot of NIU this season and they are the best in the MAC by a large margain. Just think that emotions and situational scheduling can be a big plus to the Broncs. May make a halftime play depending on the flow of the game. Keep in mind that NIU really dominates in the 2nd half. Problem is that I can't find the game on any feed to watch live. My internet co. has not picked up ESPN3

OK the number has dropped to a level that I can not ignore. Even though I have a unit on W Mich +4' first half I am playing another unit on :

NIU -6' for the game.

Should go at least 1-1 on the two but it really fits NIU's profile perfectly so the obvious hope is to go 2-0. The big play is on the over, that's the one I need to cash.

The NIU game is on local TV :0002

Western drove right down the field on their initial drive an scored. NIU countered but tossed a pick in the endzone that really hurts the total. Wind is not hampering the passing game yet.

LATE ADD

First half Temple -17 regular paly

Ok as there is some interest on this game on the forum, here is what I see.

The Western def. front came out motivated and did a pretty good job early on. However, as the first half progressed I could really see the Northern O line getting the best of things out there.

Carder has done a nice job for Western and their game plan has been sound with a lot of pitch and catch under the coverage. They have no running game however and their predictability is beginning to catch up with them as the Northern DB's are starting to cheat in a little. Late in the half they jumped a route for an int. so Western really needs to stretch the field.

The first half play on Western is in the bank but i can easily see Northern once again wearing down a foe in the 2nd half. A key point to recall is that they left 8 pts on the field with an interception in the end zone and a missed PAT.

I think that Northern takes it to 'em in the second half.

Playing: 2nd half Northern -4' big play 5 units

2H Kent St -4 +105

The Flushes have 13 pts off of 300+ yards in the first half. The dumbest team in college football continues on with many mistakes. Still, they appear to be much the best and should cash in on some decent drives in the 2nd half.
