Today's plays:

Pitt -6.5 1H for 1 unit
Illini -12.5 1H for 1 unit

I'm typically weary of top teams laying big numbers in easy non-conference games. Tough for them to play consistnetly the full 40 when it is obvious they could sleep walk for stretches at a time and still cruise to victory. Add in the subs playing minutes late and the opponent still gunning 3's, can be a recipe for a back door cover for the dog. However, in both of these games tonight there are advantages across the board for Pitt and Illinois. Due to this will play the 1st half line in both, looking for them to come out focussed for the season and home opener and establish the lead early this game.

Nice to have you posting! I see Illinois has looked terrible in their exhibition games... any concern? They look tough with everyone coming back, but the Big 10 in general looks better than normal.

Michigan State, Ohio State, and Purdue will all be solid. The bottom of the Big 10 sill looks sorry with Iowa, Michigan, and Penn State. Glad to see the season has arrived:toast:

good luck poon. like the illini tonight. 1st half looks great.

Irvine was down 42-27 at half time to Concordia, before losing 86-76.

thanks for the well wishes on the season guys. Same back to each of you.

DD - the Illini didn't look good in their exhibitions. Not that it is entirely excusable, but the two DII teams they played are decent at that level. Lewis actually beat DePaul (ok that doesn't mean much) and I wouldn't be surprised to see Vandy struggle as the Illini did against S. Indiana. Anway, still a team with the talent the Illini have should beat those DII schools more handily than they did. Something to consider though is that Weber truly used these two exhibition games to get looks at different line-ups and substituted early and often. 11 guys had double digit minutes in the Lewis game and 10 guys had that mark in the S. Indiana game.

Poon. I read you often. On illinois as well here. Did not get the number I wanted for afirst half play but made a small play on them for the game. Really looking forward to seeing how the first half plays out and if the number is right I will be banging the second half. Stay tuned

that didn't start how I thought. Will throw a small play on the 2H, Pitt should be able to execute better and focus on shutting down RI perimeter shooting.
