Just back from Green Bay..
Drove from Oklahoma, stayed in St Louis first nite., nice new big Casino called River City near I-55..
VERY soft poker room, lots of Donkeys hee-hawing here..
The casino opened in March, and the bad beat pot is up to 100,000+...that is right, it has not been hit...quads or better.
On to Chicago...great food and museums, not a good place to wear my Green Bay jacket, lots of stares.
The Shedd aquarium is horribly over-priced at $32.00.
The Field Museum we spent a day and a half viewing incredible value.
They have "Sue" the only complete T-Rex found. Comes with a 3-d movie on her...she was named "Sue" as she was found by a staff member named "Sue"
The Museum of Science and technology has an indoor exhibit including a complete captured WW-2 German sub, the u-505.
Yes, a whole fricking vintage "underseaboat"
This is the one from movie fame, they needed an enigma decoding machine.
The lobby has the Silver Streak "Zephyr" train circa 1933...yes, a whole train and cars.....walk thru exhibit.
Food and beer....yowza, gained 5 pounds.
Onto to Greenbay
The stadium, circa 1957 sits in a neighborhood, there are houses surrounding the parking lot and stadium. Most were selling parking for 20-30 dollars.
The smell of Brats was in the air, lots of characters wandering the area, some still sober.
Onto the game...
We got their 3 hrs before kick...seating is 2 hours before kick..went to pro-gift shop....pricey...hard to find a decent anything for less than 69.00, yet the place was packed and the check-out lines were long.
Onto game-time
We were row 52 on the 50 yard line, behind Cowboy bench...best seats I have ever had for any sporting event.
Game was a laffer, great to be wearing Packer gear, the sprinkling of Cowboy fans cheered the blocked field goal early, but were in a state of shock the rest of the game.
I eyeballed the Cowboy bench, the ONLY player trying to be a motivator was Dez Bryant...it looked like a wake otherwise. (Turned out to be one for Wade)
I have not been rooting for any team in the No fun League for 15 years, but am on board with Green Bay..their fans rock, just don't bring up the subject of Favre.
NEXT DAY
Was at hotel in Brilion Wisc getting breakfast, saw a young fella with a cowboy jacket peeling off the "Dallas Cowboys" lettering on the back of his team jacket...for real, he took it down to the glue. I about busted a gut on that one.
Went back to same casino in St Louis River City..1-3 game a Russian Donkey had 3k in chips raising EVERYHAND
The table split up $2500 of it in 2 hours before he left bewildered at his bad "luck." This guy had to be the King of Donkeys.
Great trip, good food and beer (German BBK draft rocks) GO PACK.
