With QB Bruce Gradkowski sidelined by a separated shoulder, Jason Campbell has been reinstalled as the team's starting quarterback for Sunday's key AFC West game against the Chargers.
According to head coach Tom Cable, an MRI showed that Gradkowski has a third-degree shoulder separation, which he suffered late in the loss to the Dolphins last Sunday. Gradkowski will not have season-ending surgery and could return before the season is over. He had the same injury to his throwing shoulder earlier in the season.
Campbell has started seven games this season but has been pulled from the lineup twice, most recently during a 35-3 loss at Pittsburgh on Nov. 21.
At practice Wednesday, Campbell handled the majority of reps in practice with Kyle Boller serving as the backup. Gradkowski reportedly attended practice but was held out of all drills.

Campbell was at the helm during the Raiders' three-game winning streak but struggled mightily against the Steelers. The Raiders have found success with their ground game and defense, both have struggled in the past two losses to Pittsburgh and Miami. All three areas ? QB play, running the ball and defense ? will have to be at their best to beat the red-hot Chargers.
