I will never forget the recruiting mags saying King Rice was one of the few pg's who was capable of jumping straight from HS to NBA. They missed slightly on that one.
Recruiting is more of an exact science these days with all the camps and AAU teams. Still not always perfect though. Drew has been a disappointment and last years vaunted recruting class has been subpar. Reminds me a bit of Guthridge's class with Boone, Morrison, et al.
Losing players after 1-2 years puts even more pressure on recruiting and having a subpar group can set a team back a couple of years. Imagine the UNC team a few years back if Hansbough had come in as a Frosh and played like one of the Wear twins.
Barnes and Bullock are going to be very good but this year will be another struggle.
