Overall 26-26 +3.65 units

App State -3 5units

Very big play for me here. App is playing very well at this point in the year. I don't count the game @ Florida because it's two different leagues. The Rock is a tough place to play for visiting teams and IMO is the difference maker here. I really figured this would be more around 7 so I feel like I'm getting some free points. App State has really just lost one game(that matters anyway) this year. It was on the an OT game and on the road. Not a bad season for a team that has had an amazing run and lost their team leader in Armanti Edwards. Most people thought they would struggle this year but they've picked right up from past seasons and looked very good.

You get the number 1 seed here and get them at home.

Is this worth putting money in a book that takes this game?

I'm seeing predictions of 45-10 everywhere and a strong second half effort no matter what Central starts in the first half.

I know next week will be tough but this looks like the proverbial free money bet of the day.

Who are you using?

Thanks,

BW

Woody, not using a sponsor.(local with online access)

I know this App State team pretty well. My step father played for them back in the days and he and my mom are season ticket holders. I've been to a lot of places for football but no place like the Rock. This time of the year it's like playing football at a ski resort. It's cold and just hard to freaking breathe. My mother said the snow is piled up, not sure if they're getting more or not but I'm hoping they do. The players love it and the fans go crazy when it's freezing.

I'll be honest, I went really big on it but I'm worried because the line is so low. There's just no reason for it to be only 3. I've looked at every part of the game I can and just don't see it. Those lineman for Villanova are going to be sucking big time wind trying to get the running game going.

Hopefully someone else can chime in. While I know a lot about App State I don't have the most knowledge of the Vill program. I'm just wondering if it's an over reaction to Villanova beating Deleware and then looking really good in the 2nd half vs SF Austin.

I like this too but I think the line is too low. All the things you said about App st are right on the money. But Nova has won two aginst the top three in the nation. Just as you said App St is playing their best football so is Nova. Now I think Austin was a bit soft but they were handled by Nova even after being down 14. Some credit I guess is also being given to Nova because they have the championship from last year and if that same team is starting to play well then they have championship talent. Mountaineers seventh-ranked scoring offense (35.2 ppg) Wildcats? eighth-ranked scoring defense (17.0 ppg). So it is a lot more interesting that it appears but I think App st is the right side but I would think it would be more 7 a la the UD/UNH game.

I think App State is the correct side.

A lot of App States defensive stats are misleading. They've given up some yards in quite a few games because they've been up big. Of course playing at Florida doesn't pad any small schools stats.

They're QB is a dynamic player and has really made Edwards leaving not as big of a deal as some thought. Moore has worked wonders with QBs like this and he's doing it again.

Line drop is a signal to take Villanova.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer in this thread but just my take.

Id decline the pts as well, not to play the chalk ML but the dog, outright. Villanova is better set up to defend the running game here. Either way, right or wrong, really dont think the points play.

Was up in Boone back in August before fall school started, really good trip. Checked out Blowing Rock and played amazing round of golf over in Tennessee at a place called Redtail. Got a round in at Boone CC also with some folks we met at Murphy's. Good times.

Villanova +135

Doesn't scare you at all that Nova has had to play two of the top three in the past few games and WIN them or its good night now they go to App st??

Its the playoffs, win or go home. They showed a lot of character and good coaching adjustments last week vs SJA.

I dont expect any sort of 'letdown' having to go to Boone to play another powerhouse team. The cats have shown that they can compete with anyone at this point in the season.

Like I said at the start, the line is the only thing that has scared me.

This reminds me a lot of an NFL team that barely makes the playoffs(Vill had to win in OT at Del to get in) and now they're on a big time roll and win games they aren't suppose to.

If you're looking at it strictly from a line standup I would be all over Vill here but App State is a really good team and in this division there's nowhere close as far as the crowd and how difficult a place it is to play.

Good luck guys no matter you are on.
