and like youre failing to realize cie, malzahn had to put his system in place with all these players who were already there. impossible to effectively run your system when you dont have the type of players required to fit it. but he did it and still made dramatic improvements with players who arent nearly athletic as the ones hed prefer for his system.

you just sound bitter to me.

What would I be bitter about? Just calling it like I see it. Not sure what is upsetting you so, but that is not my intent. Seems like others have been able to go back and forth with me on this without getting worked up.

No matter how upset you get, I still feel that this season for Aub's offense was a perfect storm. At no point did I say that Aub's offense sucked last year, or will suck next year. As I have said all along since he opted to pass on Vandy gig, it will be interesting for me to see how GM's offense performs next season. My guess is an above-average offense next season..... meaning it would closer to the 2009 version than this season.

Cie glad to see that you can handle a civilized discussion on a topic without flying off the handle. It is very refreshing and commendable. As far as the numbers being skewed, you could say the same for this year's squad. They have averaged 48.25 ppg vs. Clemson, Ark. St., La. Monroe, and Chattanooga. The two best defenses they faced (Miss. St. and LSU) they averaged 20.5 of course you are talking about two different years and different defenses. I'm definitely not saying that you stick any other QB in this offense and they would be scoring at the same rate, but I am definitely saying that if Newton went to Miss. St. they would not be scoring 45pts per game. Like you said it's a matter of opinion and it's good to see a civilized discussion.

Exchange of opinions and information is what it is all about. I appreciate all reasonable opinions, including the opinions of Airportis, who I've found to be a solid contributor to this point:toast:

Cie. You do realize that in 2009 we had Chris Todd. He and Kodi Burns (tubberville / franklin kids) are two of the worst kids we've had play quarterback in the history of Auburn Football. And we still went 8-5.

That alone makes 2009 impressive to me.

We will have a regression next year if/when Cam leaves and our OLine goes with him. but our boys have been recruiting (paying) some real big guys to fill those shoes. And Keihl Frazier should help us forget about Cam, as an above poster stated

Frazier looks like a nice prospect. For the sake of my large play on Aub -3, I am glad Malzahn stayed:toast:

well at least we agree on that.

aub -3 will be the biggest fb play i make this year.

oregon is going to be dominated. their game is getting to the outside running the ball. wont be easy vrs an SEC defense. auburns weakness is the secondary but oregon isnt really a big threat throwing the ball down field. i think auburn wins by double digits and could very well see them winning in a full on blow out.

My largest play of year as well. Combined 735/700. My thoughts are exactly the same as yours, as posted in one of these Aub/Oreg threads.
