I consider the Republicans to be the lesser of two evils. But that gap has certainly shrunk. Given Republicans are trying to spend as much as Biden did, while adding tax breaks which are just widening the deficit.
But, I simply don’t believe that Democrats have our best interest in mind. Examples include but aren’t limited to border policy of the last four years, the Biden cognitive cover up, the gaslighting Republicans politicos & right leaning pundits/ journalist who brought it up, the blatant denial that the Wuhan Covid virus originated in the Wuhan Covid lab, the subsequent gaslighting of anyone who brought up that yes it could possibly and certainly seems likely that it it did originate in the Covid Wuhan lab, the wasteful expenditures on illegal benefits, and now the grandstanding for the Maryland dad whose wife accused him of Not only physically abusing her, but in a grotesque and gratuitous manner. Reading her words made me want to vomit. We’ve got congressional Democrats flying over to have tea with this guy? To be fair,, Democrats aren’t the only problem.
DJT and Republicans in Congress are not helping matters. Bringing this to the big beautiful bill, which I dont support, I disagree with the salt cap increase as it’s providing a break to those who simply don’t need it at this point. I’d love to support reduction of taxes on cash tips and overtime, but I think it’s irresponsible at this time. As ive mentioned, for me the most important matter is spiraling debt. Massie is the lone republican who makes sense on the topic of the big beautiful bill.
I know it wouldn’t be popular, but it seems we actually need a Progressive tax increase at this point in tandem with a spending cap which lowers incrementally over the hand course and of the next 10 years. I am willing to pay more taxes, but we need guarantees that Biden era ( and now trump era) spending levels are curbed.
Other ways to help this situation we find ourselves in is for congress to vote on issues individually. No packages. No last minute negotiations.
And we need congressional term limits more than we need oxygen.
Excuse the rambling nature, and I’m sure the litany of mistakes, but I’m voice texting this.
