I've always been impressed and will always remember this Interview on National Holidays. On the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion, 06/06/2019, Martha MacCallum interviewed one of the Soldiers who hit the Normandy Beach that day. It took place at the American Cemetery in France. She asked him "What does it fell like to be a Hero"? Without hesitation this Gentleman's response was "No Ma'am I'm just a survivor. The Heros are resting underneath these White Crosses." Easy to remember a story like that.

back in my teens, i read a lot of WWII history (yup, i was a cool kid for sure). always amazed me that those guys were able to jump into that water and run for the shore under that kind of fire.
