I mean u do have a point. But it boggles my mind they make millions and basically are set for life unless they blow it all and then turn around and throw a game or a pitch for more money.

The guy is not on the take for $20K-$50K, etc... Far more likely is that he has his own gambling debts (maybe bases maybe other sports) and that is how he pays off his tab.
