How are yards counted on a fumble??

Last night on the Steelers next to last drive Rodger’s threw a pass from the 23 to Gainwell who made it to the 28 and had the ball punched out. It was recovered at 26. Announcers said a gain of 5 before the fumble… which it clearly was (see pic) but final stats said 3 yard gain. This two yards determined Rodger’s passing total for the game which was 220. At 3 it goes under at 219, 5 puts it over. I was driving and listening to the game, I knew Aaron was at 146 before the fumble. Add 5 and it’s 151. When they started their last drive from the 30, I was thinking 🤔 no fricking way, an all pass TD and I hit. Of course that’s what happened after the review in end zone, I was in a low signal area and never checked Underdog until this morning. Of course, I’m not happy, cost me $600

Anyone know how the yards are ruled?

I would think he would get credit for where he got to before the fumble. Same as if he lateral the ball to someone.

Even the announcer called it a gain of 5. Crazy part is I just checked the official stats before the drive started, saw he had 146, so knowing I needed 75 more yards from Rogers. They got the ball on the 23 and I thought drive the distance with no scrambles and I hit. Once the fumble occurred, in my head I’m thinking we should get one more chance, and luckily I did, and ironically the drive was starting on the 30, exactly the 70 yards I needed to win.

I cheered every completion, and then sweated the review in the end zone, but I never checked the Underdog site due to a bad signal. Went to bed thinking I hit for $600. In retrospect, I needed to root to get the 2 ptr and the extra 2 yards!! 🙄
