Ya know you have some bad luck when you land your plane safely and then die because a Fire Truck is on the fucking runway.

And ummm....how can that plane have all that damage (the cock pit was obliterated), yet the people in the Fire Truck survived, that makes no sense? I mean I know Fire Trucks are heavy and sturdy. But a plane traveling at that speed should demolish the Fire Truck.

Will be a long investigation to find out what happened, but seems to me the dudes driving the Truck fucked up, ya gotta make sure when you drive on a runway there are no planes barreling down it.

There has to be video of the incident, how could there not be?

Planes aren't built to survive crashing into crap.

This is true........the pilots must have died instantly, they had no chance.

Kind of shocked nobody at the front of the plane died.....I mean look at this......

I will be shocked if the dudes driving the truck are found innocent, I mean I know it was dark and weather was not great....but how the fuck can you NOT see a plane coming down the runway?

On the course!
The tower cleared the truck. With the hundreds of flashing/bright lights at an airport, it's not easy to see. And, they were responding to another incident.

By the way, the plane was going 24mph at the time of the crash.

And ummmmm......why the fuck were THE POLICE driving the Fire Truck? Shouldn't someone from the actual FIRE DEPARTMENT be driving Fire Trucks around LaGuardia Airport?

I mean What the Fuck🤦‍♀️

The tower cleared the truck.

Yes...it was "cleared"

But if you listen to the recording from the Air Traffic Controller (they played recording on news here in Canada) you can hear the ATC yelling STOP, STOP, STOP, STOP over and over again......and they did not stop.

Maybe if actual people from the FIRE DEPARTMENT were driving the truck, they would have followed protocol and stopped. Why in the love of fuck are people from the police department driving Fire Trucks on runways....fucking hell🤦‍♀️

Maybe they did stop after the yelling. Right infront of the plane.....

Sean Duffy will figure it out.

So I guess police put out fires at all New York airports?

And the Fire Department hands out speeding tickets.

I'd be pissed as hell if I was a family member of the pilots that died.....sheesh.

Port Authority officers are dually trained as firefighters.

Sounds like they need more training.

- at night

- raining

Don't listen to ATC when they are told to stop.

You'd think when you are at below optimal visuals you'd pay close attention to what the ATC was telling you, they didn't.

Just drive around runways not listening to your radio....great job guys.

Oh and the weather wasn't THAT BAD where you can't see a plane on a runway. Sounds to me these guys had "tunnel vision" and just took off towards the Frontier Airlines plane and didn't follow protocol.

ATC screwed this one up.

He turned the walk sign on while traffic was coming. If ATC says hold short because a fucking plane is coming this doesn't happen but as soon as he says "Cleared to cross 4" ATC killed those pilots. They weren't fucking clear. They tell Frontier to stop first, then stop stop stop trk 1 stop before making a clear truck 1 stop. ATC fucked up.

ATC screwed this one up.

The ATC might have been at fault, but so were the guys in the firetruck.

They didn't stop when told to stop. Just because you are "cleared" doesn't mean you just drive around without looking or listening to the ATC. The ATC said over and over again to STOP.

Also, keep in mind if you listen to recording you actually hear the pilot from the Frontier Airlines plane come on the radio after the crash and say that the ATC did nothing wrong:

“Yeah, we saw it,” says the Frontier pilot.

After some silence, the controller’s voice returns, saying, “I know. I tried to reach out when I saw. We were dealing with an emergency earlier.”

Eventually, he tells the Frontier flight that the airport’s “going to be closed for a little while” and tells them to get ready to return.

“Yeah, we’ve got stuff in process for that, man,” a pilot replies. “That wasn’t… that wasn’t good to watch.”

“Yeah, I know I was here. I tried to reach out to my stuff, and we were dealing with an emergency earlier,” the controller says quietly. “I messed up.”

“No man, you did the best you could,” the pilot says back.
