**Mississippi State at South Carolina**
--Not only has Mississippi State (19-1 straight up, 13-3-3 against the spread) emerged as the class of the SEC and a legitimate Final Four contender, but it has become one of the best teams in the country for bettors to support. As a matter of fact, the Bulldogs are in the midst of an 11-0-3 ATS spree. And if Kentucky's Erik Daniels hadn't made a shot at the buzzer in Starkville, Mississippi State would still be unbeaten.
--South Carolina (19-4 SU, 10-6 ATS) is one of the nation's biggest surprises, but the Gamecocks have been money burners at home. They own a solid 12-1 SU record at the Colonial Center, but most of those wins came against an abysmal non-conference schedule that's responsible for a mediocre No. 42 RPI ranking.
--But maybe Dave Odom had it right when he decided to bring in a plethora of cupcake opponents? Make no mistake, I detest programs like Georgetown and Florida State, who routinely chalk up early-season wins over creampuff foes. In this instance, however, the weak slate afforded the opportunity for a youthful SC team to learn how to win and play together. Now this club has confidence, and it owns a 6-3 record in SEC play.
--The Gamecocks have been terrible versus the number at home, struggling to a 2-4 ATS mark. That said, they are 5-2 ATS when installed as underdogs this season.
--The 'under' is 3-2-1 for Mississippi State, while the 'over' has appeared in three consecutive South Carolina games.
--The Bulldogs haven't been 8-1 in SEC play since 1962-'63.
--Rick Stansbury's club leads the overall series 8-5, and these schools have split six meetings in Columbia. The Bulldogs have won the last two encounters both SU and ATS.
--MSU is a remarkable 8-0 SU on the road and 6-0 ATS.
--Oddsmakers at Las Vegas Sports Consultants opened South Carolina a one-point favorite.
**Arkansas at Tennessee**
--Arkansas (11-9 SU, 7-8 ATS) has been horrible on the road, limping to a 1-6 SU record and 2-5 spread mark. The Razorbacks have lost all five road games in SEC play, although they did cover the number in a loss at Auburn.
--After sitting out basketball last season, Arkansas quarterback and forward Matt Jones is back on the hard wood. Jones logged a career-high 34 minutes Saturday against LSU, posting his first double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. It wasn't enough for the Hogs, though, as the Tigers collected a 65-52 victory as 10-point favorites. Jones has made 11-of-15 shots in the last two games, his first career starts.
--Tennessee (11-8 SU, 9-8 ATS) has lost six of its last seven games, and bettors have to question where the psyche of this team is at following a 77-62 home loss to Georgia Tech as a 2 1/2-point underdog.
--Despite their recent woes overall, the Volunteers have maintained a solid -- if not spectacular -- spread record at home. Before the ATS setback to the Yellow Jackets, UT had covered the number in eight straight games at Thompson Boling Arena. Overall, they're 10-3 SU at home, 8-3 ATS.
--The 'under' is 2-1 for the Hogs, 4-2-1 for the Vols.
--LVSC opened UT as a 7 1/2-point 'chalk' with a total of 136 1/2.
**Georgia at Vanderbilt**
--Vanderbilt (14-5 SU, 8-8 ATS) can't afford a loss in this spot, as it tries to claw its way to the first NCAA Tournament berth of Kevin Stallings' tenure in Music City. The Commodores have been installed as an 11-point favorite at LVSC.

--Vandy suffered an 81-71 loss at Florida on Saturday as an 8 1/2-point underdog.
--The 'Dores are 12-1 SU at Memorial Gymnasium, 7-4 ATS.
--Georgia (11-9 SU, 8-8 ATS) is an abysmal 1-6 SU on the road, but the Dawgs are a respectable 4-3 ATS when they leave Athens.
--When these schools met in Nashville last year, Vandy collected a 94-91 victory as a 3 1/2-point underdog. The 'Dores have won seven of their last 12 home games against UGA.
--The Dawgs could be without senior point guard Rashad Wright, who is listed as "questionable." Wright was on crutches until Tuesday, according to today's Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and has not practiced all week since spraining his ankle in Saturday's 57-54 loss at Auburn. UGA covered the spread against the Tigers as six-point underdogs.
--If Wright can't go on the bad wheel, freshman Levi Stukes will slide into the starting point guard position. Stukes (8.5 PPG) has started all 20 games this season at the two-guard slot. The versatile Damien Wilkins can also run the point if needed. Wright, a product of Statesboro, Ga., has never missed a start in 57 career SEC games.
